Don't exactly love it, but for me it's not as bad as generally said on here. I rarely run out of work (we're actually on OT). Have 3 secondaries I have yet to work on since my primary is so busy. I seldom get QA or QC emails or reports. My TM is good. VR is surprisingly accurate and usually doesn't require that many corrections. I suspect that part of the difference in opinions may be clinic versus acute care and that, as is the case everywhere, clinic is dying out.

Worked at most of the majors (but not MModal) before they merged, some smaller ones, also IC and in-house, both clinic and hospital. I've been doing this since 1992, so I do have some idea what's out there and what to look for. Nuance is working for me at the present time. If it doesn't, I'll leave. Don't need to feel sorry for me...

I worked for Nuance for a little while. While it wasn't great, I do have to give them a little credit. I did get some good training. They never seemed to be satisfied with my line rate and kept pushing and I found them greedy but I can't say it was 100% bad.

And I don't half mind the platform and the ISR.

It's the way they run the joint, making no bones about getting their bottom line down at any cost to employees, trying to cut and cut and pick at your work, anything to get you down and down and down with the $ and perpetuate an atmosphere of fear.

They squeeze you on both sides, push to get the line count up while simultaneously ratcheting up the QA to the point it is unbearably picky, demeaning and weighted extremely way out of proportion, in that it can wipe out your weekly bonus with one bad report.

I think the bonuses they offer are counterproductive to good transcription and happy employees, also, incredibly, they are pitting QA against MT (usually they are not the best of friends, but maybe more of a helpful relationship - this is the first time I have seem a company make MTs and QA compete for bonuses and the QAs actually get points for taking MTs' bonuses away!) and that is a very bad idea.

But the job itself I really like. Pity about the idiots running it.

about QC which is not the same. You give QA WAY too much credit if you think they live to make you miserable. They are doing there jobs with the many rules they are given. They also have to maintain 99.5% AND also get audited on YOUR work so whatever they miss they take the fall for. It would be GREAT if the MTs who are always complaining would actually take the responsibility for THEIR work which the QA cannot change as so many of you think they do because they audit your reports that have already been sent to the client. I work in QA and actually LOVE IT when I do not have to score the MT because I get so much more work done. I am happy to say that MOST of the MT I audit are VERY good MTs contrary to what the BAD ones say or think. Of course you will not hear from them on this board because when they do post the sharks come out...

I've been working for Cornerstone Professional Services for a few years now. I love working for them! They pay on time (direct deposit) every time. I don't know what former staff was like, but I've read some negative reviews about them. I can honestly say the current staff is VERY supportive. Is there anything positive about working for Nuance? What's it like working on the eScription and Dictaphone ExText platforms? What are your average line counts on those platforms? I can average 400+ lph working on a clinic account, but I get to use lots of word expanders and templates, it's all straight typing as well. Whoever is even thinking of trying to work for Nuance Transcription, should think again! They are always running out of work and pay sucks big time! They have a new pay system where you are docked for almost everything! You have to meet 99% quality, which is no problem, as you should be meeting that anyway, but then they check your reports, always short ones and if they find an error, especially a major one, that docks your score way down, which in turn docks you pay, plus they then take y ...

25 years ago, I had an hourly wage of $11.50 (before I got into transcription), while the minimum wage was $3.35. So I was making 3x minimum wage.
