Sound Quality very poor - MT2

Is it me or is it that the sound quality is getting worse and worse on these accounts. Ever since last year when they had the town hall meeting saying they were making improvements (e mails, etc.) and then they got bought, seems all that improving stopped. Half of the work I get every day or more are simple inaudible, I cannot hear or the static is so bad, or the sound so low, I have to send to QA b/c these are not intelligible.

Is it me, or has it always been this bad? We are paid so low, we really do not need this kind of thing to slow us down even further. Any comments appreciated. I feel very alone in this as when I e mail my supervisor I am ignored like I am worthless.

If our quality must be 99%, then the quality of the dictation needs to be better than 25%. If we can't hear how can we be held responsible... and how long do we let it go on that every other dictation is impossible. This truly needs to be addressed, but not with a CCM who ignores any e mail or all e mails!

Mine is equally bad but mainly because 95% of them dictate from the nurses' stations with all the attendant noise. Also, we are dealing with cell phones which we did not have years ago. The practice of making MTs pay for this is absolutely despicable and when I am ready to go, MM gets no notice from me; they don't deserve it.

It truly is getting worse, and yes, since they announced a sale. But we are still held to 99%. Go figure...

Those handheld recorders are trash. And MModal sells them now. They are a transcription company that designs new technologies to make transcription harder. It's got to be one of the worst business models in history. No wonder they have to make it up by robbing their customers and employees.

I agree. They want to be all things to everyone except their employees. This is why they sell handhelds too. But, my theory/feeling is they wanted to "look good" before selling, and now they are sold, I think that it won't be long before the investors see the poor quality/holes in the different areas.. such as poor quality in the different MT systems, and other areas I am sure all across the board. As such, there will be change.
In the meantime, we are struggling with minimum wage, and then when questioned about the 99% quality, we are not even allowed to mention sound (no e mail reply from supervisor when queried). This leaves us with no recourse but to struggle.
Sooner or later there has to be change for better or worse.

New owners/investors wont see poor quality. They are the last to - care. All they see is a signed check. nm

Please HELP!!! What is the policy when you have a 22 minute dictation and the sound quality is so poor you can only understand may be every 4th or 5th word/phrase. I already have about 25 blanks and I'm only about 5 minutes in. I have been a tier 3 MT for 12+ years and am not trying to pass the buck here. I'm just wondering if poor sound quality (very muffled) can be due to other things than dictator using cell phone, etc. I recently started working with Inscribe, and sometimes it seems like every single dictator is very hard to hear clearly (static, overall muffled, etc), so I'm wondering if it's something to do with a temporary condition related to the Inscribe platform/server or the hospital. sooooo...I just received an email from the quality person of the day. She said the client requested an audit of all reports for a certain provider based upon poor quality. Two of my reports came up on this audit as being below 99.5. These reports had 1-point errors on them because of omitted and/or inserted medical words. I am not denying that I made the mistakes. I am having a very hard time with sound issues. I turn it all the way up and still struggle just to hear the voices. It doesn't matter if I plug my headphones directly into the computer port or the speaker port. It plays louder if I let the speakers play out loud without headphones but I cannot always do that when others are around because of HIPAA and privacy issues. Why would one by one doctors who I have listened to for years suddenly have changes in the quality of their voice files? They were clear as a bell and now muffled or with static. I have a service that rerecords from the hospital server and then we download from the service's server. The sound quality is absolutely atrocious by the time it comes to the MT with most jobs sounding like they were dictated on a cell phone inside a cardboard box. I am presently using a Boostaroo which make the audio louder but does nothing to clean it up. Is there something I can buy that will improve the quality? TIA ...

I have done absolutely everything that I can think of and it's still horrible! I upgraded from WinXP and Word 2002 and bought a brand new, faster computer with Win7 and Word 2010. Has anyone ever complained through Remedy about the sound quality for Fluency? I realize this is probably futile with MM, but it has become so unacceptable. How in the h3!! are we supposed to produce quality documents when MM can't even give us quality sound??? This is so freaking annoying. My EQ50 Koss 3 band equalizer went out on me two months ago and boy am I feeling it. My sound quality is horrible trying to hear all my dicators. Apparently the EQ50 equalizer by Koss has been discontinued and I cannot find it anywhere. Can anyone share a new equalizer or any equalizer that is comparible or anything. Thanks!!! ...

Current Probity employee about to be sucked up by the impersonal big company. Anyway, has anybody noticed in the last two weeks all the good dictators are gone and there's nothing left but the garbage dictators and poor sound quality? Some of these people are difficult enough to understand, though we've got a decent dictation/transcription system. I quit in early 2014 because there was a sudden switchover of doctors in the acct I was typing, and they were the worst I've ever encountered. The sound quality was atrocious at Nuance. It was like scraping the bottom of the barrel. I work for a different company now that doesn't make you jump through stupid FIESA hoops, etc, and it's nice. Just wondering if the same crap dictation continues at Nuance. I liked Transcend. ...

I ran an error report for all reports, all accounts on my platform for this quarter, 10/1 - 10/18. So far the Quality Index is 84% vs Quality Score 99.18%. Didn't they advertise this new error scoring as working out in our favor? Doesn't look like it to me. This is based on 2194 jobs and 105,358 lines audited on E5. I checked the box that says view all corrections on the correction report. ...
