Opinions wanted on growth opportunities... - Anon

I would like some opinions on what you think about Nuance's claim of "Growth opportunities for those interested in building a career path in QA, training or management" and if you see that as a legitimate claim. I know all the heartaches we are going through with this career, but I just wanted to see if this is something this company will actually do or just blowing smoke... :o)

This is the thing. They do promote, but the grass is never greener and the pay is definitely not better. Any time I was offered a promotion, I turned it down because the pay was too low for the work and hours they wanted. They really do not value any of their employees here, no matter if you are low on the totem or up in management, QC, QA, whatever. If they did value employees, they would not low ball everyone, including paying those with excellent experience and excellent qualifications who have proved themselves the same as those just out of school. No offense to new people, but it's just unseemly to pay everyone the same. There's where you think and they want you to think the big bonus comes in, but the bonus is not easy to achieve and nearly impossible (not impossible, but almost). They obviously do not care who they have working for them, what their skills are or what motivates them. They only care that they are getting the work done as fast as they can, quality be damned.

Congrats and good luck to all who have gotten a job. No wonder everyone is out of work for so long. These companies post as if they are desperate, but never reply to resumes and testing, (even when you pass). Love being an MT, just tired of applying and no response. Too time consuming. I was looking at MT ads and a lot of them only need 98% accuracy, but M-Modal had to have at least 99.6%, going to 99.7% soon. I wonder about different MT companies' thoughts on this - or whether I should even think about looking for future medical transcription work. ...

My plan was to retire PT and work PT, however, I was told MModal is no longer allowing employees to go PT only if you are grandfathered in. I'm totally getting burned out at MQ. If it's not the NJA with requests to change schedule, then it's the lack of primary and getting other unknown accounts slowing me down. I've gone from full-time at MQ down to working part-time with another part-time job to make up lost income now for the past 7 months.
