Minimum wage versus lines per hour. - NTS MT

So I have been very careful not clocking in when work is low because I don't want my LPH to suffer, BUT.....Is there anyone out there who just clocks in and takes the reports slow as they come and accepts the minimum wage?  Do you get "naughty" emails from your lead telling you that you need to pick it up or clock out?  I hope this makes sense.  It just occurec to me that minimum wage would be better than no wage when work is low.

They don't like to pay MUP. I just stayed logged in one pay period during my shift and got a NASTY email saying I needed to "fix" my time card to align with actual production time.

Of course another trick you can do is to just go very, very slow on each job. That way you are on "productive" time and they have to pay you at least minimum wage for hours worked.

But, of course, you then get in trouble for being under line count.

You can't win.

But this amending could lead to the same lawsuit as Transcend - MT

However, the lawsuits never amount to much anyway. Big Corps get away with whatever they want and at most get a slap on the hand but God forbid I should get paid minimum wage to work the schedule they (and I) agreed to regardless of work flow.

I am down significant lines and hours this pay period...this check will be shameful. We are to clock out if we have no work BEFORE you send them an email telling them you have no work. They are too cheap to pay MUP pay and you have to "make that up" as well. Work comes in slow, I stay clocked in and work slower so i'm not playing sign out/sign in game. If they don't like it, tough toodles.

A $15.00 minimum wage would equate to 375 lines per hour at .04 per line. That's 3000 lines a day for an 8 hour day! The best I have ever done was 2700 lines editing in an 8 hour day and that was only once and someplace where I had been doing the same doctors for 6 years. I have heard in various places on these boards that if you are supposed to work full-time and your pay (by the line or character) doesn't equal minimum wage for those hours, you can get unemployment even though you still have a job.
