eTrans Plus - Are they hiring? - sally

Anyone work for this co? Are they hiring and do they have work?

We usually do have work. However, at the times we don't have work we are NOT compensated (not even with minimum wage) even though we have set schedules and are required to be there during those times. Pay is on a tiered plan based on the number of lines you transcribe per pay period. So, if something happens, say you're sick and can't work a day, then of course your line count falls and so does your cpl. Part of their accounts use Meditech Magic, which is not user friendly at all. The others use Mongoose, which is some better but not all that great. I make less working full time for them than I did working part time for my former company. I wouldn't recommend employment with them, but others may feel quite differently than I do. Hope this helps.

The above poster is correct about the pay scale. If for some reason there is no work or you have to be off for something, that drops you pay down to a lower tier and you could end up making six cents per line. They have health insurance, which no one could afford unless they are wealthy, which of course is not why we are working for eTrans.

Otherwise, the people are all very nice and work is pretty easy.

I am asked to work overtime all of the time, but at the same rate. I don't understand how they get away with this. Is this one of the drawbacks of being on production? I don't see how this is legal. My fingers are falling off and I am broke still. Oh woe is me. I used to like this job. Wonder what happened.

I currently work for eTransPlus and have been working for them since the end of last year. I absolutely always have work and they are a fantastic company to work for. I'm not sure if they're actively hiring, but I would sure give it a shot and send my resume. :) Good luck!!!

I tried them a few years ago and that Mongoose (whatever) sucks - I quit

Could have saved myself some weekend anxiety. The 877 call in number was Medquist. The CEO tremored through the whole accounce of the buyout. HUH eat my foot they will recognize and keep everything intact. When I asked for Federal Leave when Q bought Spheris they would NOT recognize my time. eTrans made an "error" last pay taking away all my PTO. The sweaty CEO has a bad conscious because eTrans will make as much as MTs in India. Now I know what the Plus in Etrans stood for. ...

WTF is going on? I am no longer an MT, but I still care about a lot of people who are still TRYING to work at the Q. Just popped over to mtjobs and the Q has an ad on there for MTs wishing to embark on a world class....etc. It's unacceptable that the Q doesn't let anyone know what is going on at the MT level, starve out all the experienced ones they "acquired," then offshore to Inida and hire a bunch of newbies. I want to work a part time job to supplement my other part time job at Nuance because sometimes there is no work. I see an opening at TTS but when reviewing posts about TTS it sounds like a bad place to work with incompetent recruiters and managers. It seems 95% of the posts are bad regarding TTS. some part-timers anyway, why not offer weekends to part-timers and offer some Mon-Fri shifts for the experienced full-time MTs you're trying to get..... That's about the only way you're going to get many experienced quality MTs. And there are always plenty of MTs looking for part-time weekend work as a 2nd job. ...

Is this just a scam so that employers don't have to pay benefits and employer taxes? I bet if there was an audit, most ICs and MTSOs would be in trouble for using that classification improperly, especially for the full-time positions. I even applied for a full-time secretarial job in a small law office recently, and was told I would be hired as a contractor with no benefits. I was stunned and declined. I see ads for Medtrans all over the internet for all different cities and you go to their website and it seems they are pushing you to take their course and then they will hire you. I am just confused because I keep seeing the companies advertise for months, yet they seem to say "no" a lot. I have 12 yrs experience in acute care, radiology, and clinic, and it's amazing to me how for some reason it seems impossible to pass these tests. Is it just me? ...
