own without having to do massive layoffs. The real underlying intention here is to have all work taken over by India. Quality and patient safety have nothing to do with it. Paying India workers mere pennies increases the bottom line. There is no public explaining to do or announce regarding massive layoffs. They will simply claim US workers quit on their own and they cannot find employees here in the US. I would love to know how much the person or persons were paid to think up this plan. I also recently noticed one of the gentleman who announced this plan appears to be from India with CMT after his name. I would challenge him along with other upper management, including TSMs, to spend 2 weeks in our shoes. Work, work, work not knowing exactly what you are making and then take that paycheck and see how far they can stretch it. Then come back and remind us what is so wonderful about this cutting edge, industry leading pay plan. As a side note, during an interview yesterday with another company, explaining the pay situation here was met with laughter and the comment, "that explains the influx of Nuance employee applications." Merry Christmas, Nuance. I hope your patients remain safe under your third world country wages.

plan will be developed. Hopefully, the genious who came up with the current one will then be let go due to exciting new dumb pay plan development.

and they just could not wrap their head around expecting someone to work and not being able to depend on a consistent amt biweekly. When I added in that it was felt to be industry leading edge, the reply was "uh OK."

I do think an upside to this pay fiasco is that many MLS who have been thinking of leaving and dragging their feet, finally get the kick needed to just get out and do it.

To Nuance, I wish you and your brilliant pay grids well, but I think you really did it with this one. Do you even understand it yourself? If you did, you wouldn't have embarrassed yourself in rolling it out.

Now all of a sudden, the ads have slacked off? Especially at a time where they have instituted this new pay plan and I'm sure they had to have anticipated there would be people quitting.

I think they are advertising or recruiting in India right now as we speak to compensate for the loss of MTs here in the US under this new pay plan. I have not seen a US ad from Nuance in a while.

This means 65% will see decrease and/or paid minimum wage. They are touting this as the great new comp  (local Burger King is advertising job for $10/hour).  Anyone find out if the QC percentage is just for blanks or include all sent to QA including Audio issues, etc, and will EQA be included.  Also, trying to figure out our pay from week to week is going to be a pain.  I am going to see how this new comp plan works out, but since the conference call, I'm not feeling pos ...

Does this company hire and then after a quarterly review have QA pick your work apart and then tell you they can either terminate your contract or cut your pay.  Understand this has happened to more than one person.  Has anyone experienced this.  They told me I was doing awesome work, not they picked the work after and then tell me that in 2 weeks my contract will either be terminated or will have a reduced line rate.  This makes no sense.  I have 18 years experience.&nb ...

I'm not understanding if a person was making 8 or 9 cents a line for straight transcription and then the account goes to voice rec and the pay is decreased for that, why is the pay for straight transcription also going down?  It's the same doctors, so why am I now suddenly worth 2 cents less to do straight transcription?  Personally, if it isn't VR worthy, then you would think that it would still be worth the 8 or 9 cents a line.  ...

I will check for work during my schedule. Work it if possible, if not, just use the no wrk excused absence comment. I am not going to work around the clock to try and make it up. Ridiculous. If you want to, that is okay, but seems crazy to ask people to do this.  Why don't the supervisors/TSMs have a call about this. We get an email, but never anyone to tell us directly about a change. I just cannot believe that they expect employees to try and make up the time. ...

Cant we all write the guys who are on the e-mail we all got if in fact this turns out to be something bad? Flood their emails and desks? Ya know its too bad we cant get together 500+ MLS and go on strike... I would do it. If a ton of us went on strike and demanded fair wages and changes, with noone typing their reports for 48+ hours I think they'd listen. It kind of sounds like the pay will be the same even if they lower the base..... b/c if they lower the base rate but you get a tad extra ...

Sounds like they are taking out the LPH requirements? Or am I the only 1 thinking this? Sounds like they take out the requirement for LPH. Now your lines may drop due to focusing more on QA/blanks/rereading,etc.  Normally that would lower your lines and lower your pay. Now it will lower your lines BUT you will send less to Q and have less mistakes so your pay will ultimately stay the same. This is how I am taking all of this. The only thing I am not getting is if we are going to have a base ...

The abuse and the stress have gone beyond the pale. The people who put together this pay plan have no idea what it is like to work in the trenches. We have taken pride in our work and have loved the field of medical transcription, but they have made us hate it. They have caused us to make more mistakes.
