does anyone if mtec updated their cds - stillwannabemt

Hi all. This is for anyone who's graduated from the M-Tec program recently or knows anything about M-Tec. Do they still have the same SUM transcription audios? I'm hoping they updated that part of their curriculum, and would like to know if that's been done yet. thank you.

Just wondering what your reason would be.

If they are using SUM, don't you think they would be using whatever is current for that set? It isn't as if they bought an old set years ago and have been making illegal copies of it ever since. It isn't likely they would call up HPI and ask for "a case of CDs, please, and we'd like the outdated dictation again."

If you want a set of current CDs, why not just get them from HPI? They do sell them.

I guess I am wondering where you are going with this. School material is intended to teach you how to do the work and give you an opportunity to develop skill. It is not intended to give you every possible thing you might ever hear. That would be impossible. Instead, the school teaches you how to tell what you need to look up and how to use references to find what you need.

If you have not taken a course, either Andrews or M-TEC will provide what you need. If you took a poor course, you probably need to take either of those programs to get "the rest of the story" that does not come from a CD. If you took one of those courses, never got a job, and now want to review, just use your existing CD or update them.

Unless and until I file for unemployment or have a letter from the Q stating a date that I will be laid off, I DO NOT QUALIFY FOR TAA. I was told that in order for them to consider PRE-LAY OFF status, I have to have a letter.
