shift, how is it legal for them to require we make up the time on another day, when we've already set aside time, clocked in, & wasted time when there was no work during our scheduled shift!!  So, if this is legal, in theory they could just keep you on stand-by all the time for free until there's actually some work to do.  How can they get away with this?  I could see if they had let us know ahead of time, you'll be off on such-and-such day but have to substitute this day instead.  Not after we've already been working & "sent home" because of no work.  This makes me furious.  I do have a life going on when I'm not scheduled to work!

Work gets so thin that your fighting for weeks to get your regular shift back! How can they say you cant take time off with no pay when they didnt provide the work? makes no sense.

I always try to bank some time to cover for NJA over the X-mas holiday. Lucky for me, I have had work the last 2 days with no NJA. This is a first in a long time. Thinking my POD is okay. Off for a few days over Christmas.

I have never ever seen a policy that stated it could only be used during the holidays. Whey would they increase the days off per year we can use without pay if we could only use it during the holidays?

well we were just told you cannot use it at all - during the holiday

and previously we were told it was for sick days, not out of work days, but they would make and exception during the holidays due to low work volumes. This all happened when they dropped PTO for part time.
Your HSDM can say anything, doesnt mean it is policy and has - to be followed. nm

I had significant physical problems and eventually went out on disability. This wonderful company refused me time and time again when I literally begged for time off without pay to rest. No way. If you didn't have PTO to cover it, you worked or got fired. I still wish I had found out legally what I could have done to them.

that don't match company policy, such as needing to make phone calls in OOW situations, not putting in OOW Remedy tickets, not being allowed to use PTO or excused absence unless we exhausted all avenues to make up work. I'll follow the company policy but I'm not using my time or phone minutes to call work flow team or support when COMPANY POLICY says absolutely nothing about having to do so. I'll check back for work once or twice but that's it. I also have a life.
