This is not the first time this has happened to me with this company. But yes, you always get paid. My mail has not come yet today, but I guess I can presume there will not be a check there.

Honestly I have never had this problem before..when I was first hired it was in the mailbox the Friday it was due..Wonder what is up..I just changed my direct deposit this time..they said it would be paper check, bad timing really need the money too.

a reputation for not paying their employees. Of all the things I have ever heard, not getting paid has never been one of them.

Sounds like somebody somewhere made some serious mistakes. You guys will get your checks, its unfortunate its taking so long, but you will get them.

There was a definite foul up somewhere. Conveniently, the head of payroll is off this week so whatever "fix" they come up with will probably take longer than it should.

I hope he isn't working there. After a year of marriage I couldn't understand why my relatives kept saying I was rude for not sending thank yous. I did them, addressed them, stamped them and gave them to him to mail (we lived in the country and he had the only car).

WELL BECAUSE HE TOOK THEM TO WORK AND PUT THEM IN A SUPPLY CLOSET!

I only found out because his boss asked if I wanted them when he quit there without notice.

Calling everybody and their momma about my check. They would not get me off the phone until the it was straightened out.

I mean, put a stop payment, reissue it overnight so that I see it the next morning, and I wouldn't get off the phone until I got a tracking number or some form of reassurance and proof that it has been taking care of.

To heck with emailing, it's almost time for the next payday. You can best belief, they would all know me on first name basis. I would even email Vern!!
Its just that serious, I work for my money and I want it on time.

I'm glad I get direct deposit. I seriously advise you all to go out and get bank accounts, get your routing number, and have direct deposit set up immediately.

I called first, which was on Monday, and was told rather hurriedly to email them. They don't want any part of speaking with you on the phone apparently.

No way would they brush me off with an email, but thats just me.

Don't really want companies having access to bank accounts...don't need another potential source of error in finances...

they have no authority to do anything with your bank accounts. They send payment to your bank using the routing number provided and the bank deposits their payment into your account.

A company has no access to your bank account whatsoever. I dont get what you mean by potential errors in finance?

And they only have the ability to DEPOSIT in your account; not withdraw. I think EVERYONE I know uses direct deposit for pay and never had a problem.

Now I HAVE heard nightmare stories about people on automatic bill pay where they have had the money taken out early or double debited.

permission to take money out of their account for a particular bill or on a particular day.

I dont mess with the auto bill pay thing. I dont give anyone any permission to take money from my account. I call my bills in with a pre-paid credit card.

But yes, direct deposit does NOT give people the ability to withdraw money from your account, only deposit.

No one can withdraw money from your account without you giving the bank permission to allow it to happen.

Not exactly true. Someone was withdrawing money from my account and I was not on automatic/direct bill pay. I didn't give ANYONE permission to take ANYTHING out of my account nor did I give ANYONE my routing number (which by the way can be obtained just by calling the bank) or my checking account number but yet this was going on and went on even after I filed a dispute with the bank. 45 days and 1000.00 dollars later, after filing disputes with bank and requesting my account be frozen this was stopped, and bank claimed they didn't know who it was, I was refunded my money and I closed my account. At this time I did have direct deposit and because my money was being deposited by my employer, there was money there to be taken. Had I not had my check directly deposited they could not have gotten that money. So sometimes its not always that we have a problem with our employer but with other issues that effects the money that is being deposited which makes us hesitant about direct deposit. Just something to think about for all out there who are so quick to ask and/or say "why don't you have direct deposit."

Checkings accounts a lot of times can be vulnarable, but still not to direct deposit. What you are describing sounds like a classic case of identity theft. Like maybe you have a debit card/check card and someone got a hold to your card number and started ripping you off or maybe your check book.

I mean if that is your thought on bank accounts, then why have a bank account at all?

Any transactions made with my bank account require a *Pin number* and my password and the only person who knows that is me, if I ever lost that info even the bank could not give it back to me. I would have to go in, take proof of who I am, ID etc. and know my account number before I am able to reset my password and pin number.

With that being said, it is impossible for anyone to take any money out of my account without knowing that pin number or password.

Having someone steal money from you account, is in no way shape or form related to direct deposit and the routing number does not give people authority to take money out of your bank account either.

If thats the case, why would anyone have a bank account.

because the numbers for DEPOSITING a check (except for the BANK'S routing number) are different than your ACCOUNT number and your DEBIT CARD number. On any account I've had my routing number is the same, but the deposit slip is different from the checking and from the debit. I think you had identity theft and/or the bank screwed up and was covering its butt.

This is what the bank tells you because this is what they want you to believe. It was my checking account, no one else had my PIN, no one stole or got ahold of any checks because I don't write checks so I never even ordered any checks. What I was told that as long as you have a "debit card" that you use there is no way to set up an account to not have electronic deposits, transfers or withdrawals that will ensure that this doesn't happen. I have in the past had my identity stolen which is the main reason for me personally not setting up any automatic or direct bill pay, and I also use a prepaid credit card through ACE when ordering online or paying bills and I am very, very cautious about protecting any and all of my identifying information and I shred anything I receive with ANYTHING about me. Of note a debit card does not contain your account number or the bank's routing number on it, so even if it was the case of someone somehow getting ahold of my debit card it would not give them direct access to my account to be able to have that information and have money taken out of my account electronically. And, as I mentioned, it doesn't have anything to do with direct deposit except that because my checks were automatically deposited that money was there to be taken. It could have still happened without me having direct deposit, they would have just taken what I had, but I am hesitant about direct deposit because of this as I can't afford to wait on bank 30 to 45 days to settle this, as I had to in this case.

It was about twice the amount I was expecting, if I was to get anything at all!  I'm pleasantly shocked!  The DOL had called me about a month ago to ask me several questions about when I had worked there.  The letter included with the check from Landmark said that they don't agree with it, but agreed to pay it anyway.  LOL  Hopefully there will be some other former Landmark employees who will also be getting a nice surprise in their mailboxes!   ...

Not that I really WANT to hear from the Q, but am I the only one who does not have e-mail still?  I can log into MQ Central fine, click the "my community" button, and the regular e-mail page does come up but with only four boxes at the top (no e-mail list). One of those boxes says something about currently experiencing problems with MT mail, we are contact with the vendor trying to resolve issues.  That's it.  Rest of the page is white. Doubt he will even read it but if he does, it was nice knowing all of you. I did not use any bad language, but I did speak my mind. I'm not even totally sure the big picture includes MTs/MEs so I guess we should all be looking to change occupations. from a supervisor with a typo or a word spelled incorrectly or misuse of a word. I want so much to send a reply stating "Failed audit!" And where does the doctor's responsibility come in? I can't believe how poor some of their grammar is and how they mix up genders throughout the report. It's unbelievable how much we have to correct to make them look good. And how many times do they mix their singular and plural tenses? I just wonder how many reports from any given transcriptionis ...
