Why is it that MQ is still advertising on mtjobs that they have openings, yet the MTs already working for MQ have NO work? Also, a friend of mine applied for clinic transcription there recently, and they put her through 2 interviews, only to tell her that they had no clinic openings.

I have heard that they are transitioning accounts to India as fast as they can (probably trying to catch up to that requirement that 80% of the work has to go to CBay/India). So why are they still supposedly hiring when everyone is getting NJA because most of the work is going to India? Well they need bodies to keep slaving away until they are finished transitioning. Then they will suck the life right out of those bodies when they are done with them. People are not getting any work, yet they get written up for not meeting quotas. How is that even legal? Someone should launch an investigation into this whole CBay/Medquist thing. Even if what they are doing is legal, is certainly isn't ethical.

BTW, I heard that AHDI's house of delegates is going to propose that all MTs be certified. That should really finish the industry off because they waited years too late to do it. Why did they wait until just now to do it? Because AHDI cares about AHDI, and with the upcoming changes in our healthcare system, they realize the organization is going to be dead in the water. I dropped my membership about 6 months ago...no point in it.

The industry is dead, folks. Now, we have a ton of people who will lose jobs and find that their skills are far too specialized and they will have a hard time finding jobs. Find another career path NOW, people.

the beginning of time when they were AAMT. The certification requirement never has and never will fly. Certification never got us more money or prestige like they said it would. Too many hospitals just want a piece of paper on the chart anyway they can get it and for the cheapest price no matter the quality.

What I am saying is that an OFFICIAL proposal is being made to the HOD currently. I am not sure why they are bothering at this point. I do know that there are some large organizations that are already requiring transcriptionists or editors to be CMTs by the end of this year.

MedQuist sent me an e-mail, telling me that they are hiring and that they have lots of jobs, great benefits, blah, blah, blah. Fortunately, I had already read the opinions of MQ here and so I never responded to the e-mail. I didn't go to school just to be used by some company to make more jobs for people in India.

Be sure you have enough work hours every 12 months to get family medical leave if you need it. You will need to have 1250 hours for the past 12 months. If you work the 24-hour work week, you will have 1248 hours, missing two hours.
