In case any of the higher ups read this--here is the reason why I (and so many others like me) are leaving (I really think they don't see the big picture:
1. Been with the company over 10 years, working more hours and making much less than the first day I joined the company. No raise in over 8 years and 2 pay cuts. When you work at a job, you are supposed to make more money not less--we are going in the WRONG direction.
2. No federal income tax taken out of my pay this year because I didn't make enough money.
3. Used to make $20-$25 an hour, now quickly approaching minimum wage.
4. Never ever get a holiday off, unless I use one of my 5 days a year we are given. I have noticed though that on every single weekend and holiday, the managers are not working and when I have tried to contact people with problems--everyone is unavailable.
5. Even when my parent died, there was no acknowledgement from the company, not even a card, and I had to use my PTO (one of my precious 5 days) or make up the time in the midst of my grief.
6. Medquist does not see us as people, just numbers.
7. Sick of the emails every single week letting us know we should be working every single weekend---you think we should work 24 hours a day/7 days a week---and you forget that we are the backbone of this company--without us, you highly paid people would have no salary, yet we are the first ones to suffer.
8. There are a ridiculous amount of rules we have to follow. There are 3 sets of guidelines alone--the Book of Style, Docuscribe Guidelines and the Medquist Style guidelines, plus each client profile is different and then you get individual doctors who want things done a certain way. We were told the DQS would eliminate these issues and everyone would have the same guidelines--never did happen did it.
9. You took away the 401k matching with no intention of restoring funds to us, then you give us this insult of a raise. Come on now -- do you really think that one-hundredth of a penny is anything to brag about. When I add up the amount I would make for a full year, I couldn't even buy groceries.
10. You monitor our performance and will be penalizing us for sending reports to QA, but if we do a great job with a good QA audit--there are no bonuses or any kind of raise or rewards. There is no incentive to go the extra mile.
I have a few more hours left and it will not come soon enough. I thank God every day that I am out of here. It was great at the beginning but the last 5 years stunk and the last year has been torture. Good luck to the rest of you. Get out as soon as you can
