WOMAN'S ROLE - NO, NO

Posted: Mar 31, 2014

In answer to my original post to Val, only 2 issues here, Val:

1. We are almost all woman. It is run like a system that once historically ran hospitals. We are not a Walmart, Kmart, Target, McDonalds. We are skilled workers, women for the most part, and from the old days, historically this has been a woman's role/job in a fraternity of higher powers, the men who once often had nuns as cohorts filling this postion for no pay at all.
2. Although some individual hospitals may not care about their individual people, believe me, hospital position within the community is driven by political correctness and their reputations including donations, volunteers, monies for clinical trials at the university level, etc. They care about their people from that reputation standpoint. M*Modal has no community relationship to uphold or connection with any religious denominiation, state funding/regulation at the university level. There is NO COMMUNITY to pass judgement on ethical integrity at M*Modal, only civil rights abuses to the individual.

Just a polite suggestion: - sm

It's generally considered impolite to post in all caps, and it's easier to follow a conversation if you post in the original thread. Not trying to be rude, just offering suggestions to make it easier to read and follow :)

Manners - NO, NO

[ In Reply To ..]
My grandmother was patrician (proletariat vs patrician). She could have written the book for Emily Post, lovely country home, a live-in (whom she mentored into a good marriage with an insurance man after forbidding the motorman on the trolley), tennis courts.

Politically correct has always been about "disciplining" women, often with a ruler across the knuckles, which was my father's system, but still serving the same purpose of "manners" toward inferiors (negative) or for postitive corrective social progress.

NO, NO, politely. This is very sad system, as in sadistic, a system maintained primarily by the very women it serves. At least the Catholic church took care of its nuns in old age.

I apologize. I didn't know about the posting in caps, but abuses of this kind go beyond manners and into reverse transcription and social entropy, single women left without means to earn a living for children or older women left without provision at the end of life, things a diet or "politically correct nutritional convention" cannot cure. I won't post again, but I say in caps, NO, NO!

Nanette

Well that escalated quickly. - (nm)

Question Regarding Role Of CCM.
Jul 05, 2013

Does anyone know what the role of the CCM is? It seems all they do is make sure there's adequate coverage for all of the accounts, so MT scheduling/schedule adherence, accepting or denying PTO requests, some Teamwork stuff, approving time sheets -- what am I missing? Also, does anyone know how much they get paid? This seems like the easiest job in the world, considering no weekends, no holidays. I hear from mine about once every 2 weeks when she sends out reminders to approve your time shee ...

MT Role - Always Evolving (FACT - Brief Response)
Apr 14, 2011

The role of the MT is always evolving.  No doubt we are all trying to figure out a way to stay afloat.  One of those ways could be for the MT to go beyond just transcription into assisting with the clinical documentation (including the complicated ICD-10).  Some doctors believe that medical transcription is one of the least efficient parts of their medical practice.   Certainly, many MT's have moved beyond transcription into speech recognition Medical Editors ...

THE OTHER WOMAN
Mar 30, 2014

I am one of those oldies, but goodies...higher education, BS university level, married to a professional as a young woman for many years.  At the time of my divorce, I told many of my friends and family, "When the men get away with doing this to their wives ("First Wives" movies needed to condone it), the corporations will do the same to the men, and those same men will not be able to point any fingers because they did the same thing to their women," a labor issue, if you will, wh ...

TERMINATED: A WOMAN SCORNED
Aug 15, 2013

It's 7 hours since being terminated and I have begun the dismantling of my office, sorting through e-files, papers, sticky notes, reminders, etc., gotta oil the shredder because it's gonna be working overtime (pun intended).  After 26 years of working here in this room I have many emotions.  I loved working at home for Secrephone and Medquist.  MModal, however, is the worst, the worst management crew, no scruples, no morals, (just plain no brains), money-hungry execs loo ...

Do You Like Transcribing For A Woman Better Than A Man Or Vice Versa? (SM)
Jan 19, 2010

I am to the point where I despise hearing a woman dictate because she is usually even more unorganized than my male dictators (if that were possible, lol), at least that is how it is for me.  The 1 that I am working on currently cannot make up her mind, is mushed mouth, once she makes up her mind she rattles it off so quickly that it is barely understandable, if at all at times and constantly goes back up into the report because she forgot something. Just curious as to how every once ...

Jun 13, 2012

Those of you who claim to make TONS OF MONEY TYPING....  You are not straight typing MTs under regular circumstances IF I believe you...and I don't.   You probably work 7 days a week, all hours of the day like most MTs.  You DO NOT work a regular 8-hour day, 5 days a week and make that much money.  If that were true...there would be much more competition.  The only perk is being at home.  Period...End of story.  Stop trying to sell me your ocean front pro ...
