The long thread below - old and burned out

I am the OP of the long thread below. In it someone says that MM has high standards and if you can't meet them, it's your problem. Well, this company does not have high standards. What it has done is create artificially high and unrealistic standards for the MT only so that they can find as many ways possible to reduce their salaries or terminate them if they so desire. If they had high standards they would periodically review the dictionary and take out all the incorrect terms that have been entered. They would also review and fix the ASR on a regular basis which, in my opinion, keeps getting worse and worse. I would also guess that the MT who is being so smug does not work on my accounts because even though I can pass audits on these accounts after years and years of experience, it is absurd to expect newer MTs to do this without constant help and, if they do send more than 5% of their work to QA, they most definitely have their line rate reduced; this policy of MM is not a rare occurrence.

I hope you don't express your attitude to your superiors. I don't think you would last till retirement if you let them know exactly what is on your mind.
Maybe if we ignore it... - it will go away...

the second that check no longer matters, I will not quit, I will start voicing my opinion with no filters, until the day they fire me..And if it helps you guys great, if not, I can say I tried.

You're gonna love it. Took my retirement and I went part-time with a different big MTSO and I am loving it. Paid my dues a long time ago.

No need to ask that question. Most of us are in the process of working towards another career. That takes time that is why we are still here.

an MT sends. So, shoulda, woulda, coulda. How can an MT know if qa pay deduction is happening to another MT?
I just think it is silly for an MT to stay with a company that does not pay enough to pay bills.

but I'll try again. My point was that this company does not have high standards as evidenced by their total unwillingness to fix the things that really count. They are only using the 99.5% accuracy requirement to punish the MT. How do I know this? My accounts are horrible. When I first was switched to this BOB I sent quite a bit to QA and my pay was docked. Other MTs I know who used to work in the office with me have had the same thing happen to them and I think it is safe to assume it is happening to anyone else who sends more than 5% to QA. I do agree that if you can't make a living, you should do something else but I also think that it is reasonable to let anyone know who reads this board that this company is despicable.
All know MM is horrible. Odd thing, some MTs are finding it not - as horrible as lead to beleive. nm

VR Person From Thread Way Down Below. Jan 20, 2010When a company decides to make an account VR, are all the reports a mess to begin with for weeks or months until the voice engine (sorry if that's the wrong term) learns from the "straight" transcription that is done? Why do different platforms matter (i.e., E-scription versus M-Modal, etc). Is it possible for a company to get an account and make it VR from day 1, or do they have MTs do regular transcription on it for awhile?
