NJA- how long do we have to sit here? - ready to punch out

My shift was supposed to start at 8, it is now 8:15 and only 1 job has come through. Can I send my email and be done with it or once a job comes through do I wait another 15 minutes?

I hate this OT IS APPROVED thing they like to regularly do over the weekends. It always seems to wipe out the work on Mondays. So much for the additional holiday pay! I could have gone camping but no, now I have to sit here watching work trickle in every 10 minutes or so. Thanks for nothing!

Someone please help me out as I'm new to the NJA thing. Do you have to have a ticket number to send to support? Where do you find a ticket number? I'm confused.

Give them your name, ADP #, Phone #, CCM name, State of Residence, and hours remining in shift. State that you have no work and they will send you a ticket number. I send my CCM a copy of the email sent to support.

What is wrong with this picture? We have a schedule and there is supposed to be work during our schedule, isn't that why MQ is working fast and furious for this lockdown? If MQ cannot provide work then they should pay us our benefit rate regardless. Why should we go unpaid, use up our own vacation time or make it up later? If I wanted to go unpaid I would just quit, if I wanted to use PTO I would have scheduled the day off in advance and if I wanted to work different hours I would have a different schedule! All bad choices for the MT and MQ ends up the winner. Honestly, it has to be illegal somehow for them to force us to work a schedule and not provide work.

Anyone out there notice this? That it takes twice as long to do an op note anymore in ASR what with all the cutting, pasting, standards, going back to check whether or not to delete headings, blah, blah. It used to be a cinch to simply bring in one of my standards and make the appropriate changes according to the audio, but now with ASR, it takes twice as long. I feel like I'm running in place and going nowhere just to make ASR learn something. It's such a waste ...

I quit today. No 2 weeks notice. No anything. "You won't ever be able to work for Nuance again if you do this." That's like saying, "You won't ever be able to hit yourself in the face with a hammer again if you throw it away." There is NO WAY an MT can survive not knowing what they will make week to week. Who can budget like that? They can stick their "compensation plan" up their yin yang. I am free! :) ...

As I'm typing along for a radiologist that very clearly has a bad cold I hear the begining of a sneeze and then he cuts out. A second later he cuts back in and continues dictating. I was so happy that he actually cut out his sneeze that I left him a digital "sticky note" saying Bless you! I hope that made him smile ...

After over a year without an MT job I have decided to turn my degree into a Nursing assistant degree. Not to say the MT jobs aren't out there it is just tough for newer MT's to land them with all of the competition. Employers have the right and the demand to be very picky with everyone vying for the position. I've been an MT for many years but I am new to SR editing and I am feeling kind of incompetent. Today it took me 45 minutes to edit 1 note which was 57 lines long I've worked for 5 hours today so far and I have 500 lines. For any MTs out there who switched over to editing, how long did it take you to get up to speed with it and earning a decent hourly wage?
