First is giving notice required? I don't want to be given crappy jobs, but otoh I know it's the right thing to do most places. Second do they do an exit interview? I doubt it as I think this is generally reserved for different types of workers, but just wondering.

my company got bought by them & I had to go back...

I never bothered with an exit interview. Gave my notice, mailed my equipment back, and walked away nicely...

I think I will give notice because I know for me it's the right thing. If I get crappy dictators I'll stick it out or leave earlier. I'm permanently leaving transcription. Nearly 25 years in and the last 5 have been torture with a horrible small MTSO, but then I decided to come back to MModal and for me it's not a good fit. I like the people I work with, but it seems like it's all about avoiding the blanks and I've seen crap FILLED IN that isn't spoken or not even close to 50% clear. I've been an auditor, I've been in QA, and I've been certified most of my career so it is sad to me. When I started here (third time different company names as we all know) it was okay, but within 6 weeks I've had five different accounts and since I don't need to be doing this, I'm done.

I used to do 300 lines per hour straight typing with 99% accuracy so their loss. I just can't believe HOW their SR works and some of the doctors allowed to be on it. I'm typing I think 70-80% of the report and the rate is NOT 70% of my straight typing rate or even close. While it's not about money per se for me (I'd say 30% of me leaving is), it's something newbies ought to think about when negotiating with them.

But I'm very blessed to be in a position where I won't need the additional stress of trying to maintain a line count on SR with 15 different accounts. I can do about 200 LPH with it easily, but that's barely over minimum wage for my state and if I'm going to do something for that amount of money, it will be a more social job where I don't feel like I'm compromising my ethics to avoid a blank. I do know there are lots of people I'm leaving behind who feel the same as me, and I hope they are all able to some day with reconcile that or find a new career.

you know you won't every come back to MModal or need a good plug from MModal as a reference for another job. I have heard someone from a hired company calls you for an exit interview and I've read on here where many of these people have stated their complaints and reaons for leaving but I'm sure the higher ups ignore these issues since no changes to our benefit are made. It's not in my nature to just leave them high and dry, but also for future reference even for a nontranscription position would be to my benefit (i.e., if asked "is she eligible for rehire" I think without 2 weeks that would be no.).

And the thing about the exit interview I would love to state my reasons, most of which I am sure they have heard before or are aware of, but honestly I don't see any reason TO give my reasons. The pay? So they will probably offer me an increase (everytime I've left that's what they do and while it is about pay, it is a small piece).

I think all of my issues have been posted at one time or another here, except for the scheduling (or I missed it). I think they would have people stay if they were slightly more flexible. When I worked originally it was no schedule, then it was 8 hours within a 12 hour window or a 16 hour window (I can't remember), now it's 8 hours when you say. One of the reasons I went into transcription way back when was to have a flexible schedule, and that is one of the bigger reasons I'm leaving it. I think if they want the 8 hours definitively defined they could pay a shift differential for those who are willing to commit to say 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. and then those doing an "8 hours of my choosing" do not receive it. I know I'm preaching to the choir, but that's what I would do (and did when I had my own small MTSO for awhile--but glad to leave that because my doctors were notorious about forgetting to pay).

I gave them a month's notice and a company called about 3 weeks later to do the exit interview, even after giving my concerns and frustration during the interview M*modal called in January to ask if I would consider a re-hire. Best of luck to you.

I still don't know if I want to waste my time or theirs with an exit interview. I don't see anything positive coming from other's and 5 minutes of my time is MINE now :)

I am so fed up with this job. I barely make $8 an hour, and part of that is how much I hate the job and how slow it makes me want to go.
