Protocol for quitting MQ - done

Anyone on here who has quit the Q? Did you give 2 weeks notice or what? What did they do when you told them? Did you email or place a call?

If it was me quitting, I think it would depend. - If I were quitting because

of personal reasons or not being able make any money, I would give them notice of 2 weeks. If I were quitting because of not getting any work, then I would just tell them I was quitting and that I would check for work periodically for 2 weeks.

There were no repercussions except that if I reapplied, they wouldn't hire me back. My CCM tried to change my mind, but overall my stress level is much less, and I'm glad I left, although I miss MT'ing and the coworkers I had for 12 years very much.

How did you know your coworkers? I hardly know - the name of my CCM

I know my co-workers, there are 6 of us in the same city relatively close to each other. We have get togethers (not always all of us), brunches, lunches, dinners, museums... It's great that we all went from working together in an office to keeping in touch and staying together 8 years later. I don't know if I could have done this type of job in this type of setting if not for them. I love my co-worker friends. We still help each other out with work too.

A couple of times we've even packed up our lap tops and worked togheter at one house. Got A LOT of work done too. It was during a bonus, so we all got the bonus!

Many times a couple of us work together in one place. It's a lot less lonely.

any other job. My supervisor called me the next day, but I worked my 2 weeks and then I was out of there. I emailed her with cc to all the higher up people she included in her emails (This was 3 years ago).

I quit a month ago. Was so angry at the stupidity of the new system 6.0 with them not having it running properly (like the headings insertion) I got angry and figured life was too short. I didn't want to waste my time for 6 cents a line losing half of that because of their lack of coordination. I wrote to my supervisor and let her know I'd finish out the week but that was it. If you give less than 2 weeks notice you aren't eligible for rehire. They sent me postal labels and I sent back all equipment. Two weeks later they called me wanting me to come back. I'm always 99.9 and pretty fast. We even had to sell our truck but getting my life back without the stress and lack of self-esteem was well worth it. Good luck!

I had worked for the Q nearly 12 years. I sent my supervisor (who is a great one) a long email and then sent her a shorter email to forward to HR. I worked as usual up until my last scheduled day, and then a few weeks later got the shipping labels to send the computer back. Of the equipment I had, they only wanted the computer back, so I shipped it back.

letting her know that I quit effective immediately because I just absolutely hated the job. I logged off and didn't work again. Three days later (all of which I was scheduled to work)when I had not even heard from my CCM I resent the email,noting that since I had not heard from her I assumed she did not read it. I was not working and they did not even notice! She then called me, tried to talk me out of it, I said no thanks. She said because I did not give notice I was not eligible for rehire, I said I could not care less. About a month ago I got a call telling me there were vacancies and they would like me to come back. I don't think so! Never will I work for that company again!

I am so fed up with this job. I barely make $8 an hour, and part of that is how much I hate the job and how slow it makes me want to go.
