On a serious note - FTR essay - - Think about it first.

Before you send in an essay with your name on it. Think long about it. There are a couple of issues:

1. Taxes. Think about how much you will have left after the taxes are taken out. It won't be 1000 dollars.

2. There are those of you on here talking about a union. If any of you are serious about a union -- DO NOT sing praises about ANY MQ POLICIES. It will come back to haunt you.

3. Remember exactly what is going on in MQ right now. They are crushing the paychecks of those of us who had been making good money in the past. They are auditing people right out of their jobs. If you get fired for any reason from MQ including failing their unbelievable audits , and you plan to fight them for UE or sue them for wrongful discharge -- DO NOT SING FTR PRAISES IN AN ESSAY. That will come back to bite you, too. They will have WRITTEN PROOF that you were okay with it and they will throw that essay right back at you or your lawyer's face.

This whole essay thing I believe is just to COVER THEIR OWN BUTTS. How can you even think about unionizing, or disputing their policies if you are going to write, in an essay, how wonderful this SALARY REDUCING POLICY is.

I would say BE CAREFUL. MQ has a lot more tactics up their sleeves to come down the road yet, I would not sing praises for ANYTHING that they are doing right now.

THIS IS JUST TO BENEFIT THEM. 1000 dollars might seem like a lot of money to you right now, but in the long range and wide scope of things, it is not, it is a drop in the buck for them AND THEY SHOULD BE PUTTING THAT IN OUR PAYCHECKS AS EARNED BONUSES WITHOUT HAVING TO COMPETE AGAINST ONE ANOTHER AND JUMP THROUGH YET ANOTHER HOOP!

I say DO NOT ENTER THIS CONTEST. If you do, YOU ARE AGREEING THAT WHAT THEY ARE DOING IS RIGHT.

They know we are all hurting for money. BE INTELLIGENT. THINK FIRST.

And they had to say, due to lack of entrants, no one won? Or the winner ended up being someone that was using their $1000 to pay an attorney against MQ? LOL

I have been off of work for the last couple of days so I'm just seeing this, didn't know much about it, but it doesn't surprise me one bit.. just MQ showing their true colors again. Would I just love to enter that thing.. but I am not going to waste my intelligent sarcastic wit or my time.

really makes me wonder how many people they have employed who are coming up with this crap -- an ESSAY!!! reasons not to. Even if I wanted to, I can't think of 500 words relating to anything remotely positive about FTR. It would be nice to see all MQers stand together on this and everyone refuse to give in to this latest ploy in hopes of scoring $500 or $1000. Not worth it.

And another thing - MQ is trying to get legal documentation in a - SNEAKY UNDERHANDED WAY . .

That we are not typists. This is something MTSOs need to realize. There is a skill set required here that goes beyond being a typist and speech recognition technology. I made the mistake of choosing to read it while eating my dinner. Blecch. It just sounds SOOO fake, so sickeningly sweet. Notice how all the words are manipulated to make MQ sound so wonderful. We are not high school students required to do what the teacher tells us. We are adult employees who should not be asked to grovel for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate. Line rates: Why are experienced MTs being paid the same rates as newbies? These MTSOs state that an experienced MT should end up with more money because he/she is able to produce more lines than a newbie.
