So to those of you who said don't enter....you were foolish...you could have gotten a $50 gift card...

Medquist is doing what it should be doing....providing quality to the facilities and the patients that we transcribe for!

Oh wow.. a 50 dollar gift card. Unfortuantely the mortgage company and the gas company and the grocery stores prefer real money, which MQ doesn't bother to give.

Enjoy your 50 bucks. Not worth it to me to lie about FTR and lie to myself.

I completely agree with providing quality to the facilities and the patients that we transcribe for. I have been doing that FOR YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS!

I take pride in my work and it SHOWS!

But to treat MT's/MME's and QA like, well you should know if you do not by now, well, IT IS WRONG, JUST WRONG!!! Not having a raise in 10 years???? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? How about you? When was your last raise? What car do you drive?

to the client with blanks all over the place (like more than 1 or 2 which would not be bad) but you know that is not happening,can be right? Sure they want the report back in a timely manner but if we guess and put in something wrong that could harm the patient, how can that be good? Or taking away our pay because we do want another pair of ears to listen just in case that person can hear something we don't?

How do you lie? I just can't do that! Sorry. Maybe it is time for me to leave. I am so tired of all the crap!

I have been an MT for 25 years and this is the lowest I was paid since I was in training. Why would I write a letter beaming about their NEW PROGRAM that is ALL BS!??!

payday is no longer a great day, just makes me feel like a loser. My husband and I used to make about the same. He got raises, I got pay cuts and now I just feel like a dead weight at my hours.

I don't believe FTR is good for MTs and won't lie and say that it is for $50.

As a side note, nothing I've needed to look up today has been in Benchmark KB but found it easily (and correctly) on google.

You're saying they're doing the right thing for the hospitals -- don't ya think it's about time that they really did right by the MT. Don't you realize that by them offering these so-called tools for us, which I'm not knocking it, but in all reality don't ya think they should have offered them a long time ago?? OOPs, forgot the suits needed their 6-figure salaries to pay for that second vacation home, second or third car, entertainment, etc. etc. If you've been any kind of MT for a number of years, you should know that these "tools" only go so far in helping, but the bottom line that hurts all of the MTs about 75%-90% of the time are the lousy dictators, ESLs, sloopy dictators who don't care how they're doing the dictation, and then there's the all-so favorite audio. These tools aren't for us really as they will use these tools against us as more reasons to fire us. It's already happening with the audits.

Oh, do you think that you're so good that you're not going to be going over those percentages and getting money taken away for you -- let's see the one who got $1000 I guess that will make up for some loss of money in the next couple of months, that is if she doesn't need it to pay bills, and of course, the other smaller amounts, well, what can I say, they probably won't last a month, but hey, if it made you feel good that's your right. For me, I'm with the other posters who just couldn't do it as a matter of integrity. I guess if you can sleep at night and it doesn't bother you, well good for you, because you're falling right into line with what the suits want, as you well know they sleep at night just fine on those expensive Egyptian sheets!!!

This place is hysterical most of the time. When we got the calculations for QA submissions, I went back over the previous 4 weeks, one at a time, removed the reports where the blanks went straight through to the client after QA, and TA-DA . . . came up with QA submissions of 2%, 6%, 4% and 0%.

What I find most hysterical is that MQ is now asking us to do what I have done at every other job for 25 years - keep up with standards and language changes and proof my work. Wow. Ouch. I protest.

That we are not typists. This is something MTSOs need to realize. There is a skill set required here that goes beyond being a typist and speech recognition technology. I made the mistake of choosing to read it while eating my dinner. Blecch. It just sounds SOOO fake, so sickeningly sweet. Notice how all the words are manipulated to make MQ sound so wonderful. When it arrived, I was on my way to the door to get it. Our German shepherd got excited and up ended me. I laid there with a nicely fractured hip. Line rates: Why are experienced MTs being paid the same rates as newbies? These MTSOs state that an experienced MT should end up with more money because he/she is able to produce more lines than a newbie.
