How many thousands of employees does "M*Modal" have and they only gave away 2 Ipads? Let's celebrate!! Wow!! I'm so happy!!

This was at what used to be MQCentral. An email about how they entered all of our names in a drawing. Big woop!

In the email from HR it stated something about having a button for us to click on live during the Nasdaq opening to enter in the drawing, but surprise surprise technical glitches prevented that from happening. So they gave out 2 ipads instead of 1. Wow. Don't be overgenerous. I am sure 1000 times that amount was spent flying the suits to New York and the parties that were involved with the ringing of the bell.

I am kind of getting a kick now of watching Big V and the HR guy do damage control after their rebranding experiment didn't go the way they planned. Like somehow changing the name would change anything else about how this company is run. It is still disorganized, uncaring, noncommunicative and technologically challenged. The websites/email going down and no forehand knowledge of the name change except to a select few is only status quo. No rebranding in the world will change that.

Are we supposed to be impressed by that? Why didn't they give out a number of Ipads that is equal to a percentage of the employees ... like 10% or 1% or 2% or .... well, you get the drift.

I think MMMMMMMMMM*Modal has over 8,000 transcriptionists alone ... 2 Ipads? Seriously?

I like the way they were thinking, but seriously, it would be easier to win the PowerBall lottery!!

Does anyone use an Ipad to do medical transcription. I read that there is an app called Dictapad where you use the keyboard to control the software (speed of dictation, etc.). I was thinking of trying it for when I travel but hate to invest the money if it doesn't really work for transcription. One post on the Dictapad information site said they used it for transcription and it was great. I just wonder about my abbreviation/shortcut program and things like that. ...

I have been a MT for 30 yrs. I had to stop working 4 yrs ago due to health issues, then finally had 2 surgeries which pretty much took care of the problem. While I was out on disability I got a grant, went back to an AHDI approved University and took refresher courses in MT fulltime for a year. Now, I'm ready to get back to work. The first report I tried this with, I was able to copy into a Word document. The second tiime I tried to cut and paste, the first report kept showing up. The third time I tried it, the first report copied over the report I had just transcribed and I lost the transcribed report and had to do it all over again. What am I doing wrong. Like some of you, I'm being sooooo careful, going over my reports twice before sending them in, and they're coming back with a bunch ...
