Use an Ipad to work on? - Kat
Posted: Nov 29, 2013
I'm curious whether it is possible to work from an Ipad. I know you can buy a keyboard, is there a USB port for the footpedal and a place for earphones? Has anyone used an Ipad to work on? I am thinking about buying one if this is possible.

It is an Apple product, which means you don't get IE standard as your browser. A lot of companies use IE components in their platforms. You would need the largest size iPad available (64), and for the price, you would be better served buying a laptop, especially since there are no ports for a keyboard or foot pedal.

I don't think an IPad the computing power to run a program like Fluency. Better bet is a net book; same portability as an Ipad, necessary USB ports, etc. I used one with DocQScribe, but it crashed after about 3 years use. Also much cheaper than IPad.

Ipad For Transcription Aug 06, 2012Does anyone use an Ipad to do medical transcription. I read that there is an app called Dictapad where you use the keyboard to control the software (speed of dictation, etc.). I was thinking of trying it for when I travel but hate to invest the money if it doesn't really work for transcription. One post on the Dictapad information site said they used it for transcription and it was great. I just wonder about my abbreviation/shortcut program and things like that.  ...
