Whatsoever. Not when we are fighting each other for them as soon as they pop up. I'm not asking them to hold jobs, just don't offer OT when it isn't needed.

when OT is needed and not. I feel the same way when they announce one of my accounts has a lot of work. Sort of like, hey, I'm getting to that. But, in reality, it's turning into a "be available all the time and do what you can when they are busy." That variable is still there that no one can anticipate---when exactly are they going to dictate?
So, if the manager takes the chance on the people on shift to finish what is on the system (and that nothing else comes in to blow TAT), what happens to the TAT if someone is sick or just plain doesn't show up. This works both ways. If you happen to be an always productive person, always on time, always finishes your shift, I'm sure it is frustrating to see the work disappear before you get to do your work, but you have to have some sympathy for the management end, cuz they get threatened all the time with that account going elsewhere if they are not in TAT.

Maybe they should make us independent contractors who work according to the work flow. Just keep an eye on it and work accordingly.

Over the last 2 months! But the one day I requested off got denied. Go figure.
Everytime I do this doctor's transcription (ironically he is a pulmonologist) he snorts phlegm in the back of his nose right into the microphone and will even cough from it sometimes because he does it so hard. Tonight during an 11 min. dictation by him, halfway through I had to get up and run to the bathroom because I was gagging. He did it 5 times in the first 5 min. of the job.
