Slowly they will transfer accounts, one by one, to India, starting with the easiest accounts/work types first. Soon we here in the US will be left with ONLY the bottom of the barrel indecipherable CRAP........which we will have to send to QA hence our pay will be practically reduced to what they pay for Indians to do the work. A lot of us will finally throw in the towel, not being able to accept minimum wage, which will be fine with them. They just don't want it all happening at once.

If you think you will be able to just blankity blank blank...stop right there....soon we will get an email that states that you MUST send all reports with 3 or more blanks to QA, thereby forcing us to send more than a piddly 5% to QA, hence being able to slash our pay anyway. They KNOW what we will have will be mostly CRAP work and so they don't mind paying us a tad more than the Indians.

Sheesh, this off-shoring has been going on for years upon years. I left Q over a year ago, and it was several years before that that they were off-shoring. I was in the QA Dept helping the little Indians take over everyone's job, including my own.

This is exactly what happened to be one year, two months ago when I quit. For several months I got only dictation that nobody on God's green earth could figure out with audio so bad it cut off much of the report. I was at a high line rate, being with the company for many years. It was deliberate, and after I could take more I quit. I have never regreted it. I am certain those with the highest line rates got the garbage to force us out.

I wish I could tell you that I went on working after finding a good position with another company, but I quit and then filed for disability. It was not possible for me to support myself any longer due to pain, and the emotional stress with the terrible work and threats from management took it over the top. I was approved for disability January 2010, after waiting for 6 months. In the seventh month I received my first payment. It's very hard, but I thank God every day of my life that I was approved. The State sent me for two physical exams, which were very thorough. I was in so much pain all the time, and I received absolutely no understanding from higher management whatsoever. My CCM was very understanding and knew what I was up against. She would let me cut my already part-time hours short quite often due to pain, and she gave me the opportunity to make it up when possible. I wish you the very best. I know how difficult it is.

NJA consistently, horrible dictators, bad sound issues, etc.

That's why they will get their wish very soon. I will be gone just as soon as I find another job...completely out of MT.

I had 2 primaries leave to India and 2 leave to do it in house via EPIC or their own MTs. They claimed it was for cost-saving measures but seeing the blatant mistakes in report lookup I don't honestly blame them at all.

And I will be throwing in the towel here soon hopefully for an in-house position that actually pays a great wage and quality is not just a word. Can't wait!

doesn't make you any more safe in this career. Sad but true. Hospitals want to save money too and the transcription dept is the first to get cut.....

I edited a report in which I changed leukoesterase to leuk esterase, however, when I went to upload, spellcheck found "leukoesterase" which no longer was visible in the report (at least not what was on my screen!). I went back in and deleted the whole word, then put it in again as two separate distinct words and that time, spellcheck accepted it. But what worries me is does this occur other times? Are our edits somehow NOT being recognized on the other end? Heaven know ...

I have never had this much trouble before doing my job. I will have 99% on those FIESA and then 1 report will be a C and my QA averages out to a "C" 99.3%. What happens if I never get a score higher than that? Fire me? Cool beans! Need a vacation anyway !!! Seriously, what the hell is this QC crap? So, I NEED a job! I have one, but we are ALWAYS out of work and I need some supplemental income.
