MModal and 2 Weeks Notice - MT2007

Hi. I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with giving MModal a 2 weeks notice? Do they let you go immediately or do they let you work the 2 weeks? I tried using search but there was no recent posts about this.

They will let you go immediately, so make sure you email yourself anything you need. They will lock you out quickly.

When I was first hired in 2007 you did not have to give notice (and they were not obliged to give you notice if they let you go). However, it is always good practice to give notice, plus they might just tell you to send stuff back right there and then. May I also suggest...wait until you get the new system 7.1 - it really, really makes job 100% easier and actually enjoyable (don't hate people). Good luck with your decision.

Am happy for you that 7.1 made your job easier but perhaps the OP is on the same accounts that I am on which are the worst I have ever had in 40+ years of doing this. There is absolutely nothing that can make listening to this crap any better.

It was MQ at the time, and I did not give notice, as I was afraid they would just lock me out, so I waited until my new job was starting and quit MQ the day before the new job was starting.

My MQ supervisor had told me I was not eligible for re-hire, since I didn't give notice, but then 3 weeks later, I got a phone call from someone at MQ who I didn't know, asking what it would take to get me to come back. I said, "nothing, I am never working there again."

Then, the company I left MQ for got bought out by MQ/MM and they made me work there, or have no job at all, as they didn't give me notice I would be working for "them" again.

So, you have to decide if you owe them anything or not. My situation was a few years ago, and they wanted me back. Not sure if things have changed or not, but it may be an idle threat to get people to give notice of quitting.

If you give 2 weeks notice, don't be surprised if you get NJA for the entire 2 weeks.

I gave a 2 week notice but I worked right up to the final date I gave to quit...so they don't always let you go immediately. THink it depends on CCM and maybe whatever accounts you have. It's 6 of one, half dozen of another.

I gave 2-week notice, had steady work, - got my vacation pay promptly.

I only gave a few days' notice, mainly because I logged on one Monday a.m., and my account had vanished (found out later due to EPIC-not the Indians.) I had been struggling (yes-dumb, I know) with getting done to accept another job. With my account of over 10 years gone, figured "here's your sign." Called my supervisor (she had been with me when Spheris was sold to MQ) and told her I was done in a few days. I got my vacation pay, and MQ (now m*Modal) has called wanting to talk about rehire. I miss being an MT, but like being able to pay my bills and seeing my pay go up, not constantly decreasing! Best of luck with whatever you decide to do.

Wouldn't it be nice to see us all give our 2 weeks notice at the same time. McDonald's workers can go on strike, but we can't. We don't even get minimum wage, so they have to give us MUP. Then they complain about it and make it look like its our fault that there is no work and if you punch out everytime there is no work that just means you are going to get even less, so they don't have to pay you minimum wage for the hours you are sitting here searchin ...

ago and it stated I got a raise in my hourly wage (used for time off). Shocked but pleased, very much so. I am not going to ask anyone about it because I won't look this gift horse in the mouth!!! Do you think it is necessary to give 2 weeks notice if I am ALWAYS out of work. For example I should be done with my 8 hour shift in an hour and I am not even half way through the day due to being out of work on my primary and ALL of my back ups. Worked here for over 20 years. Been MT of the month 3 times with pay raises only to be grandfathered in to lose my raises and have the same pay I started working for this company. Then I slowly get no jobs available for the past 3 months. For these last 2 weeks?? I get on all hours of the day and night and this is what my pay comes too??
