What if I don't give a 2 week notice? Is it really gonna hurt me? I doubt they give detailed information about what kind of employee you were. Maybe just dates. I have been with this company since the mid 90s and I hate to just up and leave like that, but I don't know if I can take it another day. Every week its something new. My pay is down to almost nothing. With the type of reports I get, there is no way I'm making 5% and living with myself. I could push through a bunch of patched up work, but that's not me. 3 cents per line with the threat of a fine constantly if I make one mistake is just too much. I just want to be done with this. And I won't be looking for transcription work.

This is just a tactic to lower our pay to the Indian pay. I constantly get new foreign doctors, and I'm supposed to understand them first time around? I give up with this company, hope I can find a better job, have stayed too long on false hopes.

[ In Reply To ..]I've been with MQ since 1996, when they bought the company I worked for. They recently terminated me over a pt error, which they said I did 3 times in 2 months. Funny in all the years I worked for them never happened before and I know I listened to all the demographics of every report. Anyway I was one of the MT/MME making top pay, so I truly believe they are getting rid of all the old timers who are making the money. Suddenyly I was getting nit picked on everything and put in new BOBs without notice and then out of the blue I got the call. No thank you, good job over the years, just as of that day my employment with MQ was terminated. Then afterwards no one answers my emails or calls. I would advice everyone get out because this company is up to something and I wouldn't trust them at all.

[ In Reply To ..]Just a suggestion, but I would recommend giving 2 weeks notice. As much as you hate the place, your next prospective employer will probably call them for a reference. Not giving 2 weeks notice when leaving a job looks bad, regardless of the circumstances. I don't know about MedQuist but you might not get paid for your PTO if you don't give notice, I think some employers do that. Unless you are sure you can quit and draw unemployment (in my state you have to be laid off), if you need the income I would suggest not quitting until you have another job lined up, it might not be that easy to find another one.

Wouldn't it be nice to see us all give our 2 weeks notice at the same time. McDonald's workers can go on strike, but we can't. We don't even get minimum wage, so they have to give us MUP.
