We use Fluence MModal equipment in out pathology department. Does anyone know the difference between "Dictate in Progress" and "dictate open?"

EXPLANATION OF MMODAL WORKFLOW - roybrit

In checking our system to see available work, we can see various "workflow types," one is "DICTATE OPEN" another is "DICTATE IN PROGRESS." We aren't sure what the difference is. Other types are transcribe waiting, worlflow complete, transcribe in progress, and transcribe downloaded. Guess we'll have to call M Modal and ask them. THANKS.

Dictation in progress means someone is - actively dictating

Some facilities have the option to leave a dictation open, this will hold the incomplete dictation (usually for a pre-set period of time), until the dictator finishes it and releases it into the system.

Actually on our system, "dictate in progress" will release the job if left unattended for 2 hours, the preset time. Dictation "open" appears to be an anomaly and the MModal rep is working with it now because it does not release the case at the preset time. It seems to hang in limbo indefinitely. Thanks.

control arrow over, the cursor goes to the beginning of the word. In eScription, it goes to the end of the word, making it much more convenient to add commas or periods, etc. Is there any way to manually change that setting outselves? It's so much more time consuming this way. ...

I use Fluency Direct while I talk with patients in the exam rooms. I talk to the patients and dictate right into the system. A lot of patients think it is kind of cool that the software is doing the dictation. When I walk out of the room, my chart is kind of done." KIND OF???????? ugh ...

I suspected this because I thought "I know I typed that correctly" but this time I saw it happen. I'm doing a standard report and typed metaphyseal awl, but Fluency changed it to metaphyseal scar, it just changed period. How does that happen? Lord have mercy, I really hate this system. ...

Loaded 7.4 on my own computer. Downloaded and put icon on desktop but I am unable to open it. I sometimes will have this problem if I load links from MM through IE. I used Chrome and FireFox but still unable to open... Spoke to techs in India and they said it is because I'm using my own computer and to contact a domestic tech through my TSM. You guys know so much so I thought I would send this out to you :) Anyone?? ...
