Chartnet and M-Modal? - rose

I posted 7-8 posts below asking info about Chartnet. I am wondering if the Chartnet I am using is the same everyone else is using? The Chartnet I am using is tied in with M-Modal, but I don't have VR on my account. The login box actually says SPEECHMOTION Healthcare Documentation Platform ChartNet Client 4.10. I am confused, as it doesn't seem very user friendly.

Chartnet is owned by Keystrokes but other MTSO's use it. It can be used with or without M*Modal, but it sounds like your MTSO is doing something different if it says Speechmotion. Chartnet 4.10 is also an older version of Chartnet; most companies are on 5.0 or 5.5.

It is very user friendly, my favorite, and I have worked on a lot of platforms.

What company do you work for? Have they given you good training on both ChartNet and M*Modal. With the headings you talked about in your other post, it sounds more like they are using M*Modal into ChartNet but not regular ChartNet. Is it all speech recognition editing?

I will try to help but I will not be back on until late tonight as I am about to start my shift. I work 4 10-hour days and this is my Monday!

I was going to send your a couple screen shots. But the way they have it set up, there is a little box to type in. you hit Ctl+N a narrow box pops up and your type the header. Hit the down arrow key and start typing. When you come to another header you hit Ctl+N for the header box to pop up, type in the header, hit the down arrow key to jump into another box and start typing again. With it being set up this way there is no way to pull in a doctor's normal that you have made without having to reformat it due to the way the headers are set up. It is maddening. There is no VR on any of these accounts so I don't know why it is set up like this. But it is definitely not user friendly.
I tried to find a website for Chartnet, but never could. What does the typing screen look like that you use? Just a blank area to type in? Can you pull in normals that you have made yourself? I am so disappointed because I had seen where everyone loved Chartnet. Apparently it can be set up a lot of different ways. Why is the new and improved always such a disappointment?

I don't have any tips or anything for you, but just wanted to share that, like you, I really do not like this platform AT ALL. I am also confused why so many others say it is user friendly, etc. when it is so very time consuming. I do have the headings, etc. put in my ShortHand normals, but it is also time-consuming to do that, and we have started with VR so they will be useless soon regardless. I have been on this platform now for several months and my speed decreased approximately 50 lines per hour (same account so I know that is not the cause). Anyway...just thought I would share my frustration with the platform as well. Like you, I wish I could see what exactly is different that others are using and why they feel this platform is user friendly. Oh well...just keep plugging along. Good luck!

It's the most complicated program I have ever dealt with. Apparently it can be set up different ways. The version I am not is not user friendly at all.

Does anyone know why there is not an email option on the Tech board?

I thought they were 2 different services. Everyone is buying out everyone, so who knows. All the small companies have been merged I guess. I thought Nuance was out of New York and were the primary with VR. Maybe one has to keep up with the changes and be a member and pay the dues and go to the meetings with AAMT and be a CMT to keep up with the changes, even though you still get 4 cents. ...

I have been using ChartNet for a few weeks now. My training was really brief, so I still have a lot to learn. With the way we do the headers (cnt-N) and subheaders (cnt-shift-N), there doesn't seem to be any way to paste large sections into the report to include headers and/or subheaders. I did that a lot in DocQscribe, and it sure did help my line count not to mention my hands and wrists when I could copy and paste large sections into certain reports, especially with things like card ...

Why is it that every time Chartnet has an update, things end up worse than before? Stuff that used to work doesn't work right anymore. And it doesn't accept 1-letter abbreviations. My biggest peeve with this is that I have to manually capitalize the word "I" and I didn't have to do that before. So annoying. When something works, don't fix it. Once in a while I mistakingly save a file before the voice file is done. I put in my first password in and then it tells me the voice file was not finished and all I can do is answer "OK" in the box. What I want to know if there is a way to go back and finish the file? The only thing I can do is split the file as if there was a separate dictation on the same voice file. I have recently started on ChartNet. I read reviews, which are mostly positive, and my question is why? I find it cumbersome with all the headings you have to make with the control/shift keys and entering, starting new headers, etc. Not very fluid at all (for me anyway).
