related to the "enhanced compensation plan"? Just wondering since all of a sudden people are posting about it. I haven't gotten an email, but am curious as to how it all works? Like what are they going to do for you? Did the email say?

For right now it is for people who have a lot of inactive time on their reports, such as taking too much time to reseasrch, breasks, etcetera.

This is my understanding of it, but I could be wrong. Initially I thought it was because I signed up for the "how to be more prodcutive" thing that they were offering. I am not going to knock it until I try it. I am all for making more money if possible.

They may be trying to cover their **s regarding minimum wage. The "mentor" where I work is simply trying to make sure your line count agrees with hours on your time sheet, so it looks like you are being paid minimum wage. They want you to adjust your time sheet so it looks like you are being paid minimum wage. The mentor where I work, I believe, either tried to intimidate me or impress me, by telling me she had been a CEO at an MTSO for 15 years. I was neither impressed nor intimidated. You can guess what I thought. My "mentor" had never transcribed "but I know all about SR." I am sure she meant the corporate profits. My pay cut is inconsequential to her. I think she was reading from a script as she went through explaining the commands. She didn't seem to understand that a lot of editing involves more than deleting one word and replacing it with one word. She is also an "attitude checker." Keep smiling, keep typing, keep editing, and keep your mouth shut about abuses in the industry.

My mentor was not like that at all. She never tried to intimidate or impress me. I explained to her some of my concerns and she said she would look into it. Whether or not she will actually do so remains yet to be unseen. I do believe my mentor had transcribed before, perhaps on a different platform however. Mine actually made me feel a smidge more positive about my job again.

Likely it's just the latest electronic version of - CHAINING US TO OUR DESKS. (N/M)

MModal could save themselves and us a lot of nonsense by getting rid of this ridiculous mentor thing and start getting to the real reasons MT lines counts are low - BAD DICTATORS, lousy ASR system, incomplete/convoluted CPs, jumping from one account to another in and out of BOB, etc.  Why not fix the ACTUAL PROBLEMS rather than always trying to "fix" us the MTs???  Once again, this isn't rocket science.  Garbage in, garbage out.  Hello?  Any upper management li ...

My question is this - does anyone else (or DID anyone else) have trouble with getting your mentor to answer your questions regarding reports in a timely manner? As an MT, there's no chance of getting a raise or promotion, and so there's little incentive or motivation, especially being paid pennies per line. Yet, they expect you to participate in continuing education, which takes additional time and perhaps even money. What a joke. I haven't been put on PM yet but fear I might.  Got an email that said I had a "low-scoring feedback report."  It was for using follow up instead of followup (I know better) and then omitting the word "the."  Now, I will own up to these mistakes, they WERE my mistakes, but by no means life-threatening in any case.  But apparently this caused my score to drop below 98%.  Now I'm terrified they are going drop my pay by 3 cents a line, and I am already in danger of not being able to ...

I am having a computer problem hope you can help...I have a laptop that I had to replaced the hard drive in about 6 weeks or so ago.  When we first got it back, it worked faster than before.  Now, less than 2 months later, it is really slow.  I defragment the hard drive once a week, etc. but it has not helped.  The PC that I use for work (I do not use for anything but work) never has had a problem with getting slower but with the laptop it is bad.  Of cous ...
