I've been an MT for years (about 10). I've worked subcontracting for many companies, local docs and my local hospital. I've worked for probably 10 internet companies on a temp basis to help with overflow (usually covering summer vacations). I've never had just one company, always several, so if one was out of work, another could provide. Of all the companies I have worked for... I like MedQuist the best... I know I'm alone in this apparently, but the changes you see here, are not just here, they are all over, it is a change to the profession, not the company. Everyone is always so negative about EVERY company (go ahead and look, all you see are complaints), I like it, I like the doctors, I like the work, I get paid more doing ASR here than any other company! I HATE my hours, but I can't complain about the pay and when I get NJA, it's actually a treat to have the time off unexpectedly. Now, I'm not independently wealthy, I'm not wealthy by any means, but I know the nature of the business well enough to know I have to budget my summer money to compensate for my holiday time off with family due to NJA and be able to enjoy it. Try to see the happy side of things :')
