I can't find any info anymore. Are there still MMEs and are they still testing for this position? Thanks!

I know a while back they put a freeze on promoting to MME anymore. - sm

You could contact Human Resources and probably get info about where it stands currently. FYI, though, I personally make considerably more on ASR than QA at this point. Very few reports really get routed to QA anymore, but the ones that do are in horrible shape and very time-consuming for only 3 cpl. As much as I've always love QA, I dread it here because it cuts into my already low pay so much. Just my experience...

It's not worth it, I speak from experience, not for 3 cents a line and horrible reports, not to mention those from our "global partners."

Unless you enjoy the challenge of filling in blanks, it isn't really worth it. Like other MMEs, my pay also dropped. You will also have to put up with a lot of hate from coworkers as nobody likes to have their work corrected.

Totally agree... with only 3 cents per line, and especially when you get 100% QA, only get 4 cents per line, but they want you to do it as thoroughly as SR reports...which you get more on. Also, on audits, you really take the brunt of the blame for errors! Not worth it..just moved back to MT.

I would have tested out as a 1 or 2, I could type ER reports all day every day and make twice the money as op reports, I HATE them. Wish they would actually ask people what they like to type, then, they would get a better quality, and higher production rates.

I could type ER reports all day and make half - the money I make on OP.

For me OP reports are the money maker. I can do those at 500+ lines per hour. One long report is way more efficient then a bunch of small reports, whether they are ER or otherwise. I would be happy doing OP all day every day.

The beauty of ERs is the repetitive PE. Quick easy lines! - sm

Either those go to all the newbies or overseas though because I can't tell you how long it's been since I've seen one!

MME does not get paid for additions she makes to a report. You get paid for the - job as it comes to you, with all the blanks SM

If you get report with 20 blanks and you fill them all, of if report has missing dictation that you insert, you get paid for NONE of that. You get paid based on the report that comes to you originally.

The other day I got a report where all but five lines were blanked. It was by another MME no less. It took me about 15 minutes to fill in everything but a couple spots. It really wasn't that bad because most of the report was reiterated from a previous job by the dictator on the same patient found in the job search. I would say it ended up to be around 50 lines or so once I was done. Looking at the job in my stats, it still only counted as 5 lines. Essentially, I made 60 cents per hour during that 15 minutes because another MME was too lazy to push CTRL - O to look at old reports.

If I take the CMT test the goal is to increase my income from my current earnings as a full time MT/ME. But is it worth the $$ and time required to prepare for and take the CMT test? I am confident that I would have no problem passing the test after adequate review, etc. So is it worth the effort? Bottom line -- it will cost money to take the exam and it will cost money to either enroll in a review course or buy review materials to prepare for the exam. And the CMT credential ...

Regarding the posts below, thought I would expound. I have been there a few years and it is the best MT job I have had in a very long career. The process for hiring is a bit complex but it is worth it. Don't bother unless you are really experienced. Basics: -1400 lines per day minimum - 50-character line with spaces - 7 cpl.
