Just had to say, I have been reading alot of disgruntled employees here. Personally, I have had nothing but good experiences with my supervisors, my work load, etc. Most of my 35 years of transcription has been in hospitals. We got good pay, great benefits, working in an office was always fun and there was always someone to help you out with a word you couldnt understand, etc. I keep wondering why outsourcing started in the first place? As I said in another post, even with hospitals paying employees benefits, it cannot be much of a savings after paying the big companies- I was thinking that the transcriptionists get paid, their supervisor, the supervisor's supervisor, QA people- wow. I would love to see the actual amount. Just saying.

And if you HAD NO WORK FOR 3 MONTHS?? - How would you feel then??

it seems very strange, that some of us have work and others have none..I can see a day here and there..Maybe it is MModals way of not firing people so they cant collect U/E..They can and do assign work to whoever they want..

or I finish my schooling. No need to job hunt as I would never stay in this field. You would be crazy to let the 14 board of directors get raises in this company and the amount of money they make is just unbelievable while they treat their MTs like crap.

I'm hoping to get fired, too. Then I can collect UE - and take some computer classes. nm

I just couldn't stay at any job that didn't give me any work for 3 months. I know things are tough all over but still. I would have by now sent my TSM an email saying "Since MModal has been unable to provide me with work for the last xx days, I hereby resign my position," etc. etc. There is work out there, and if they can't figure out a way to send it to you, you need to move on.

Kinda hard just to move on. Been with - them for 28 years.

When I get NJA, I give it a minute, check email, etc, - then I check ONE MORE TIME.. S_/m

and if it still says NJA, I log off and do something productive. Which can vary from doing other transcription work for an extremely part-time general typing job I'm working on; or doing housework; or taking care of some of my apt. building management duties (for lower rent - so that's productive); or, the most productive of all, JOB-HUNTING.

It is your own darn fault for not applying for UE - another happy MModal employee

I thought they were 2 different services. Everyone is buying out everyone, so who knows. All the small companies have been merged I guess. I thought Nuance was out of New York and were the primary with VR. Who in their right mind names a company "Happy Transcriptions?" In this day and age, all I see is "sad" MTs and, in my opinion, if "Happy Transcriptions" is still happy, they can only be messing even more with us poor "sad" MTs. All I can say is I am so "happy" I am so close to being on my way out of MT! ...

I've been at TTS for almost 3 years and I have nothing but positive things to say about TTS. I never have to guess what TTS expects from me, and I do my best to deliver that on a consistent basis. Communication flows freely and efficiently. My team leader and 2 shift leads are EXCELLENT managers in my opinion. Everything I invest in my job comes back to me and then some. I am surprised at just how many or your are miserable with what you do. I am a new MT ans I am also having trouble finding work. It's not easy. I can see that having editing to fall back on would be good. I have read the posts about don't do this just to work from home. I was laid off as an MT a couple of months ago. I am wondering if there is a single person on this forum who is an MT who is happy with their job (including the miniscule pay that would be appropriate compensation if it were around 1975 rather than 2013 or lived in another country in which one can buy a lot more with 50 cents). Sunday it will be 2 months I have been at my new position since leaving MM. I no longer need to take Prilosec daily and my dr. has decreased my BP med. Furthermore, I was asked after a month if I would like to do full time editing at 6 cpl AND I get paid for every single line I edit....not less than half that MM pays their MMEs.
