asking for volunteers to help out during Hindu holiday in November. Sign me up...not. Can't wait for my new job to start next month (NOT MT) and getting out of this Indian-owned company. Many wonderful years doing MT (10 at MQ) and I will really miss it, but have to eat and keep a roof over my head. Gone are the good 'ol days when this profession could support a family. I really feel sorry for all the newbies coming out of school and have school loans to try and pay off.

More and more it seems OS isnt here to support us, we - are here to support OS.

"team player," guess I am not. I think it would be easier to be a team player if I could have actually chosen the team I wanted to be on, certainly not CBay. My name will probably be put on some list somewhere, LOL.

I will wait until my last day and then send a "nice" return email with cc to higher ups saying how I feel about it all since I don't have to worry about references for another MT company.

I wonder if they ask the Indian MTs to work extra during our X-mas holiday?

We don't get holidays off but are expected to cover for India? You're joking right? I haven't gotten this email yet and I'm hoping this is a joke.

Just that there is a known need for transcriptionists from Nov 4 to 7 and to put in OT or extra hours if we can. Are you kidding?? After NJA for months, we finally get a chance to get more work and they want us to do OT and work over our schedule so we can pop right back into NJA again. Lovely.

I am so tempted to send CCM a reply that yes, I will cover for our "global partners" on those date if they will cover for me on Thanksgiving - which I have been told I cannot have off.

Pffftt!! The Hindus get THEIR holiday, but how many - of us will have to work Christmas/Chanukkah? nm

I got the same e-mail. Real urgent! They need EVERYONE to give extra hours on those 4 or 5 days - even offered OT.
Yea - right! no thanks! Besides that, how do THE INDIANS get all those days off and we can't even take Thanksgiving and Christmas off?? I was wondering how they knew they would need extra help. Smart girl! You figured it out! I Googled "indian holidays" and found it...

something like "correction to previous" email regarding line rate increase. At first I thought, okay, that virtually nil line raise WAS a mistake and now they will be giving us a more reasonable raise. Nope, it was the same exact amount.
