Maybe because I tend to speak my mind and could care less if they fire me???

invite - anon

Even though the survey was supposed to be anonymous, I wonder if they chose the 300 who gave positive feedback and not negative feedback. I think they know who answered the survey even though they say "anonymous." Email addresses can be checked and computers can be checked. Guess I am a pessamist.
geez, I never get invited to anything - and never win anything

This is not fair! I dont even work during the meeting, why cant I attend?
UGH.
I personally would'nt care but if its important - to you email them and let them know.

that is unless your being sarcastic. Im glad they didn't invite me, I will watch it via webcast and send in my comments.
Your not a pessamist, its a fact anything anonymous is BS - no ticker either

Whoever goes you can do this without it actually sounding like you doing the bitching..Make references to the posts on this site and say I personally LOVE my job and want nothing but the best for this company..and after reading the things I have seen, you have a bunch of talented caring transcriptionists that are ready to jump ship in the name of poor treatment and poor quality output..You CAN turn this positive..so wish I had a chance to voice myself..
call me skeptical - sounds like a waste of time
[ In Reply To ..]
That email said it best- we understand if individuals tend to be skeptical until we demonstrate otherwise. Call me skeptical then. Sounds like the same old corporate doublespeak to me. I would like a demonstration on how my income will actually start to increase rather than continuing to decrease.
Even if you were one of the 300, do you really think they would let you speak? This meeting is for the shareholders, the ones making the money off the profits. You are allowed to submit questions beforehand, but don't expect them to be answered. You are token guests to make the company look good. Nothing more.

There are many things they could do to make this job better that they already know about; they do not have to keep asking us to repeat the same things over and over again. Fix the damn ASR. Teach the dictators where the pause button is. Discontinue the reprehensible practice of financially penalizing MTs for poor audio, horrific accents and generally unintelligible dictation. That is just for a start.
Hey its like the political rallies - if they like your question your in

I would submit the nicest question in the whole world...Once I got the old microphone, well all bets are off. If you do it nicely, and they cut you off the shareholders are going to go ballastic..First thing out of my mouth would be check MTstars.com so then the shareholders have a bug in their ear to look further..At least get that out before they silence you..My late mom rest her soul taught me a lot..She never went to college but was one of the wisest people I knew..with no college degree born in the 1920s, she managed to make her way as VP of a bank, as a female with no education, she knew her stuff..The best way to get a bad message through is with a nice nice spin to it..She could write the nicest nasty letter I ever saw LOL..
I filed mine in the appropriate place - Yeah, right

Until I hear mention of raising our pay to an appropriate level, especially for ASR, just junk mail to me.
Insulting to expect minimum wage workers to get excited about being involved with changes aimed solely at making more money for the upper echelons of this company.
The only thing I would like to hear at these meetings is monetary acknowledgement/respect of the medical/language knowledge it takes to do our jobs and return MT to the professional career it once was. Only then will you get my attention and "excitement" for the companies "goals for the future." But, that is not going to happen...so not wasting my time. I pity the ones who still think their opinion matters.
Hey, it never hurts to try - no skin off if you got the invite try
[ In Reply To ..]
I always live by the rule to at least try rather then sit here and bitch..So you try you waste what 10 minutes of your time,,,new management maybe it will change..But if no one says or does nothing we KNOW it will never change..just my two cents. can you guys give away your golden ticket cause I woul love to give my 2 cents or so
I remember a time when I was hopeful things - yeah right

might change for the better. Been here 12 years, reality finally kicked in and the sky turned blue. Believe me, I would love to go back to blissful ignorance again, but "once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny."

Guess that is why I can't find another job. Transcription is it for me. I am locked in.
Got the email that I have been identified as someone who would benefit from SR proficiency mentoring. In other words, I am not fast enough. Oh goody. I was "mentored" a long time ago, and, after watching me a few minutes, the mentor said it was the SR, not me. :-P. Well, the SR has gotten even worse since that time! Add to that, I am having to spend even more time adding commas and formatting than in the past. Heck, I'm the one who got a sizeable ding when I "added" a word, "add" when ...
I do not mean to insult or assume those who are "chosen" are not able to articulate crucial concerns, or in fact, care about the systemic denegration of MT professsion......howeverrrrrrrr...if you want a few talking points..please feel free to read below:
Incentive: I feel the biggest issue is no incentive plan for a PRODUCTION job. This absolutely goes against every corporate principle to increase productivity, be it commissionable sales (as I am sure account executives are receivi ...
I thought it was supposed to be like a 2% representation of your total line count. How do they figure this, is it computer determined or random by QA staff? Do they have some program that generates and spits out which ones to be picked? Do the QA staff have the option of picking whatever they want to? I know there has to be some QA/QC people on here who might know.

Back on August 22 or 23, there was a job posting for Shady Acres Radiology, and several people said they had received an Email from Shady Acres indicating that they had chosen 23 resumes, asked some computer questions, and if they would agree to a background check; and that Shady Acres would contact them within 7 to 10 days for an interview.
Did any of the lucky "chosen 23" hear back yet (their 10 days is up).
Whenever I see “background check” I expect the ...
I have been with MQ, well. . . , FOREVER unfortunately. I found out about the board when I was googling something about Medquist about 2-1/2 years ago.
How did you all find out about this board! ...
Got an E-mail (isn't that personal, but better than nothing, I guess) that my old hospital has decided not to fill the position "at this time," but will keep my resume for future reference. New clothes, pedicure, and a lot of stress for nothing. So my MQ job is looking a lot better today. . .
Maybe next time. ...
MModal didn't cut my pay this week, I haven't been thrown into the cesspool yet, I haven't been put on QA review (yet) and I have plenty of work. So we'll see what tomorrow brings. ...
I failed another interview yesterday, and I'm not going to do anymore interviews. When they start asking stuff like, how does your experience as a medical transcriptionist translate to this particular job, I'm stumped. Among other questions. I have started building some other skills (like Excel), but I always end up looking like a complete idiot. So I'm just gonna stick with MT until it goes away and then I'll go to the unemployment office and mayb ...
I figured mine on Friday the old way and just checked my new one to approve and it is the same as it would have been on old pay scale. Holding my breath for the next week. So ridiculous. ...
exceed the submission rate. That will stop once the client starts reading the reports and sees all the errors. Seems like it would invalidate their contract with MQ. Maybe we should stop sending reports to QA, just guess at everything. Our defense would be that we were forced to do this. ...
I just had an idiot dictating with what sounded like his whole family in the background, foreground, everyground. Two young girls talking and giggling and then saying goodbye to each other. Daughter talking to mother. Some kind of beeping noise like a piece of heavy equipment backing up....beep, beep, beep, beep. Dictator just yapping away. How inconsiderate!!!! Okay, I'm done. ...
Am I overly concerned or do you think I may have a point?
I think the Word Help Board is invaluable and have always helped whenever I 100% knew the correct spelling. But as I have been reading the questions, there seem to be more and more drug questions from drug lists, which means no point of reference. There are also a few “allergic to: sounds like” questions.
When I first started working as a Medical Transcriptionist, QA was always: “Leave a b ...
I give up. I've submitted so many resumes and applications that my head is spinning. I can't help it that my experience is more than two years ago. The doctor died and the practice split up! I live in a small town where outsourcing is unheard of and the MTs work at a place until they die. I passed my typing test and editing test with All-Type, had my interview, discussed contract terms, and the woman said she would send the contract out. But she ...
I was under the impression, silly me, that medical coding would be safe from outsourcing to India, with further research I am sorry to say I was wrong, so very sad : (

I was moved OFF an account because I was doing the lines that could be carved up to 2 newer MTs with resulting OOW messages for MONTHS without being "permitted" another backup.
Then, I get this after being on not 1 but 2 new accounts in the past 6 weeks. The tone in this email just oozes "respect," you know?
She must know I'm talking about her...

Now that we can be dinged for leaving a blank that QA thinks we should have known, my % score has gone to the dogs (my apologies to all canines). When I get a mush-mouth or a really gnarly ESL, there are circumstances where I have no choice but to leave a blank. I'm not talking about stuff that could be looked up.
Sometimes the blank in question can be interpreted as either one word or other other and either choice doesn't change the meaning. But I can gu ...
If this company wasn't so darn greedy, maybe they wouldn't be in BK now. Buying out all these little transcription comipanies and making everyone work for the big and mighty MM. Now what?? Idiot management! ...
Remember an earlier poster said they had heard that supposedly there was going to be "big news" in October or some such that would help MTs make better production or more money somehow? Some folks were leery, hypothesizing that any change at Nuance usually means bad news for MTs.
This came to me in the middle of the night last night so it is likely off the wall. But, I think everyone will be required to clock in and out each time they leave the keyboard for any reason. In other words, no ...
