First let me tell you I was laid off after 9 years last August.  I was told many lies like all part-time employees are being laid off, you won't be able to get unemployment, don't feel bad you didn't do anything wrong.  I applied for unemployment and have been getting unemployment ever since.  I got selected (yeah me) for a special project going on with the UE commision and the lady who I report to is wonderful.  She believes M@Modal made a plethora of errors and wrongdoings and has made it her special project particularly something I think is called TTA.  It has something to do with M*Modal having to cover education and/or severance pay if you don't take the training, if it does happen it will be a long time coming with the holidays coming up and all, but thought I would share and maybe there will be a light at the end of the tunnel.  She wants me to train in codiing, but I kind of see coding getting absorbed by some software or another and being automatically pulled from the notes somehow.  If I hear any more I will let you know.  I absolutely love not working for M@Modal they were so abusive.  The first company I worked for with them was called Healthscribe and they were heaven.

sure if the person above is talking about the same thing. What has been posted is about TAA, not TTA. It is the Trade Adjustment Act. Also, MModal does not pay for your training with TAA, the government does, though I do believe that companies that are sending work overseas causing hundreds and thousands of jobs in this country should be paying for retraining. With that being said, I am not sure if the poster is referring to the subject of TAA that has been posted here many times.

I went to unemployment office to look for a job and asked about TAA but they said I didn't qualify I would have to go to HR at MModal. Any one have a different experience try to get TAA? Thanks for any information anyone has on this.

totally wrong. MModal has nothing to do with TAA. Go to link below and find your state and call them. I'm going to school right now through TAA and not laid off from MModal. Getting partial UE also.

I had no problem getting on the program, but not all the receptionists and entry level clerks at the Unemployment ffice know about it. You just need to go back again or make a phone call, and ask to talk to someone further up the food chain. It really is not difficult at all to make initial contact with the program. I can't tell you much more than that, I have had one meeting with the TAA counselor and I am exploring my options as there are several. TAA really is not a big mystery to the higher level Unemployment Department employees in any state. One thing though, the TAA license is under Medquest not MModal so be sure to mention that if they can't find it. However, in my case, they did have that information as well.

How Many Full-time Tier 3 Employees Were Laid Off?

There has to be something behind this selection process. If I were streamlining the company, I would lay off starting with tier I (because tier 2 and tier 3 can also do the work) and then tier 2 (because tier 3 can also do the work).  I think MModal will eventually end up with only tier 3 employees in the US, and they will force them to all become MMEs.  JMHO. Don't know how may part time people are tier 3, but I would imagine employees w/o benefits are cheaper than employees wi ...

I was just curious about what employees thought of Nuance on Glassdoor.  You read several US employee opinions and they reflect the morale listed on MTStars.  Scroll further down and read the opinions of the transcriptionists from India.  What a difference.  They are highly satisfied with their jobs and most have been working with Nuance for 6 to 7 years.  The US transcriptionists are very sad!!  What a difference..... ...

Well, it's official.  I just got the call that I am officially laid off!  I am glad that what I knew was inevitable has finally happened so I can move forward, but at the same time can't help grieving over the loss of what once was a career that I loved and was good at.  It's not just the company I worked for; it's the whole medical transcription industry, so as of right now I am totally THROUGH with medical transcription! ...

I have this hint that normally helps me:  “lie, lay, lain” (to recline); “lay, laid, laid” (to place or put down). The sentence is:  "The patient was brought into the endoscopy suite and 'laid' in the left decubitus position."  I was thinking it should be lain, but the patient was technically "put" in that position, so it should be laid.  Correct?  I've gone and confused myself. ...

It was never my choice to work for Mmodal anyway, I was an acquisition.  But as I was perusing the help wanted lists, the horrible thought occured to me,  what if I got bought by Mmodal again? I have heard that their transcription and editing platforms -- Escription will work with satellite internet.  I know I am not the only one who could no longer work at Nuance due to only having satellite internet.  I was working for awhile at my daughter's home, but that did not work out too well due to house overrun by all the kids and their friends.  If I could have had my own private office, I would have stayed there to work.   Anyway that is all beside the point ...
