Now that the bankruptcy business is taken care of, I have a bad feeling. I don't know why now exactly, I just do, that something bad cometh our way...pay cuts, more firings, the usual chaos. Maybe because things have been a little quiet lately. This place has made me paranoid perhaps.

Also there seems to have been a LOT of firings of supervisors and combining of teams. Our team has absorbed two others in recent months. Also a change to regions is happening this week.

So changes have already been happening.

I have to agree. I have a gut feeling something is going to happen and I feel it's going to be for the bad than good. I listened to the Webcast and even asked a question but the question wasn't answered. The Webcast, of course, sounded hopeful, but still have that gut feeling. Just hoping I can last for another 8 years till the house is paid for.

The talk about poor transcription quality and the need for competitive line pricing, all very bad for us. They have fired a lot of managers, combined teams, lost accounts, the number of jobs continue to plummet (which we won't even be able to check anymore due to the fluency manager being disabled to us soon), and MM has their eye on expanding their revenues from EHR/EMR, not transcription obviously. I'm certain, as I'm sure you are, that whatever transcription is left (the majority of it anyway) will end up overseas.

What do you mean Fluency Manager will be disabled?

Also, regarding quality, our quality seems very high. We have over 99.5% Seems very good to me, unless they are talking about ILP. I don't know if they have the same standards or just 98%

Did they say they plan to send all transcription overseas?

There are MTSOs who advertise transcription jobs who say that only US transcriptionists will be considered. Maybe this is the way to go if MM is going completely overseas. Any comments on this?

Does Nuance send work overseas?

I'm pretty sure all MTSOs are losing accounts - to point-and-click. Not hopeful here. nm

And I got jumped all over. Every one of my docs is using EMR, point and click. My new doctor laughed and said didn't know MTs still exhisted and went on to explain why, said get another job so I don't have to see you for anxiety attacks when yours goes away all the sudden. Not very encouraging. Need 9 months, just 9 more months and Im done..

The stuff I edit every day for the most part could not be point/clicked. So they must be giving up on individual detailed info.

Hard to believe they are doing away with narrative dictation, but I think maybe it will all go to other countries.

When that happens, it doesn't go to other countries, because it doesn't go ANYWHERE. Including to MTSOs, or even in-house transcriptionists. The docs pull up a template, click on the appropriate data to put into the template, and hit 'send'.

It can't be personal. That's not good. Maybe they are all going to this but I predict someday they'll turn it around and start hiring MTs again. I think it is being done the best way it can be with MTs, especially since they started to monitor accuracy. This is just my opinion.

Receiving that e-mail sent shivers up my spine. Quality is hard enough when we have 3-4 main accounts we work on that are all different, now it could be dozens of accounts daily.

If I remember correctly his good buddy in IT got fired when the system crashed for 3 days and soon after they went to the cesspool- claiming that employees were complaining about running out of work. The complaints from the clients and the MTs were so bad and so many employees quit that they soon went back to books of business with helper pools. What makes him think this time will be any better? Last time there was no penalty for sending to QA and they actually paid bonuses. Beginning of the end if they follow through on this.

I'm wondering why there have been so many doctors spelling out words - what's going on? Quality must be going down - why? I'm wondering if clients are dropping MM right and left and we're all now about to dip from the same general pool.

I couldn't decide on a drug name so check a past patient report, they have a wrong diagnosis and a drug, well actually, a word that does not even exist in the English language. And don't get me started on the old yellow fin (Yellofin) stirrups mess. And yes the doctors are spelling out crap, cause the idiots overseas for the most part leave in whatever ASR prints out. This company is so stupid, they allow accounts to be lost rather than employ Americans..Tax rate for business in the US 35% highest in the world..No incentive to stay here though..

Yes, you are right the tax rate for business in the US is 35%. However, read different articles regarding corporate taxes and how these organizations only end up paying about 15-18% tax. That is less than what we pay as individuals. There are a lot of loop holes in the law and a good tax lawyer can certainly help a business get out of paying most taxes. Therefore, we as individuals get stuck paying even higher taxes to make up for what corporations do not pay. There are so many things these organizations do to avoid paying taxes to this country. You would think they would be grateful to this country for giving them the opportunity to build a business, have it thrive, and do well financially that they would be glad to pay their taxes to it, but they don't. It is just known as plain greed on the corporation's part to just want to keep it all for themselves.

Took a test for a city job and just got notice that I did not pass. I was on of over 300 people who took the test. Happy for those that passed but wish I would have been one of them. Just quit this company. Initially had to fax my personal information numerous times because they lost it repeatedly, etc. Only allowed to type 10 reports per day on QA, unable to get off QA, QA editors never able to agree on policies and procedures.
