No more PTO for part time employees as of October of this year. This SUCKS!!!

so now when they have no work, you are forced to work - around the clock

It is wrong to expect MTs to work around the clock. We were hired for a specific shift and if there is not enough work available for us, it is certainly not our fault. Quit sending out all our work! I can't and won't work around the clock for this company making what I make ~ are you kidding me???

I don't make enough to worry about my job. I made more at my very first job while still in high school. Literally 150 more per check. Disgusting.

As a new PT employee who used to be full time for 8 years, I'm so upset right now. I dropped down to part time to 32 hours per week. I need 32 hours a week. I know my TSM knew this change was being made and let me basically hang myself. I'm so angry right now I could scream!

I can related a little as have been full time for 13 years and just having some health problems and inquired about going part time about a month ago, but decided not to for now because of the PTO difference (less for part time) and now no PTO - it stinks!!

Guess they showed us, we CAN find another way to cut your pay! - Had to pay for the Philippines chocolate.

I moved from full time to part time around 2 years ago and love part time and didn't like the measly PTO we got and now we get none!! I told my DH and he said "how cheap can that company get?" Well...now we know.

So you are part-time and still have a job? When they laid me off on 8/16, they told me ALL part-time people were being laid off. They took my PTO away from me years ago. This is M*Modal right? I swear how are you suppose to keep up with things if they are different for everyone? I am not missing the money yet, but I am sure it won't be long. These people have got to be breaking so many laws, but how do you prove it. :(

It takes longer to edit a report than to transcribe it! I have been keeping track of the time it takes using the process below. So, paying half the line count is just an excuse used. I always thought it was ok to break a job if I had to leave the computer due to some crisis at home. If I'm working on a job and I've got to jump off the computer and don't know how long I'll be I break the job I'm working on, sign off, and when I sign back on it eventually does come back to me. Is this wrong? (Guess it is, from what I gather from comments on this board about cherry picking and being penalized for breaking jobs and what have you). ...

I'm working for a small company and upon initial hire, I signed a contract stating I need to give 14 days notice if I quit. Can they sue me for breaking the contract if I don't give notice? I've had something come up where I'm not able to work for them any longer and 14 days notice is just not feasible for me. ...

I was just curious about what employees thought of Nuance on Glassdoor. You read several US employee opinions and they reflect the morale listed on MTStars. Scroll further down and read the opinions of the transcriptionists from India. What a difference. They are highly satisfied with their jobs and most have been working with Nuance for 6 to 7 years. The US transcriptionists are very sad!! What a difference..... ...

I opened a ticket yesterday for ASR, asking them to have H and H expand out to hemoglobin and hematocrit for my account, and less than 24 hours I got a message saying it was done! Unbelievable. Seems crazy we would all have to do this, but if we all do this, maybe some positive change could actually come. I gave them the account, an internal job number, and my contact number and just stated what the problem was. My understanding is this was corrected for this ...

Most of the companies are paying 8 cpl for transcription and 4 cpl for editing. MQ is not going to stop until they reach that rate even though they may do it gradually as they have been doing. ...

This whole thing makes absolutely zero sense to me. Webmedx has 500+ employees, right? What management is going to make an announcement regarding a publicly traded company and then tell employees not to talk? I would think announcing changes like that would put them at risk of actually influencing the stock. And they have to know it's ridiculous to think that many people are going to keep the announcement confidential. To me, it seems extremely irresponsible of Webmedx any way I look at it ...

I interviewed for a job at a local, major hospital. It was interesting to learn that the HIM department is in the process of bringing transcription back in house, at least partially. It was claimed that their transcription company was not doing a satisfactory job. This might be good news my MT friends. Maybe this will be a trend?
