Any details on new compensation package? - anon

Posted: Aug 15, 2012

I left MModal back in June with my supervisor telling me that she was expecting to see raises when the new compensation plan was revealed.  I was one of the many who took a significant pay cut in July 2011 and finally got out.  Just wondering if things are any better at MModal, as was promised.

Dont think we will ever get a new package - all lies

Supposed to be in early summer. It is now officially late summer, starting fall.

I agree - Drone

I think they must have crunched the numbers and decided they couldn't do it without cutting into their own salaries and bonuses.

well, that and wanting to gobble up more companies - gotta prioritize

we are such fools
"We are such fools"...I beg to differ. Please speak - for yourself.

More than likely we will just get a cut in pay anyways.

Why ask here? Email Amy. - nm

The person who asked does not work at MM anymore - my guess is...

[ In Reply To ..]
they asked here to spark a conversation about it and get everyone's undies in a bunch. Maybe the poster gets a kick out of reading about "bad news" pertaining to MM.

If she quit, I dont know why she even cares anymore. What difference does it make to her whether not things have changed or if we got raises.

Bottom line is the poster knows it was a sore subject and I believe she posted the question to get a rise out of people.

You're probably right but still I am sure anyone can email - Amy. Will you get a reply??? nm

because I don't think even MMOdal can get away with an enhanced compensation plan that means across the board pay cuts.
I have asked questions, but no response. She makes too much. - She will NEVER relate to us.
[ In Reply To ..]
She makes too much money. If you Google, it shows her salary, under half a million. She will never be able to relate to us peons.

I have asked why have I worked here for 25 years and make the same pay as a newbie who has been here for 5 days?

Why have the 3 raises I have worked so hard for and fought for over 25 years was now taken away when I was what they supposedly say I was grandfathered in?

I also want to know if they read the book about the Triangle and learned their ways on how to run a company of what they call us "peons" and followed the practices.

Their compensation consists of boost. Work like a fool and be a robot/computer and then we will see compensation of a raise, but we have to work like a fool and kill ourselves doing it. By keeping it up and running our bones to the ground, we will then all have arthritis and problems when we get old. NO THANK YOU! I want appreciation and the knowing I am a valued employee, but again, THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN WITH THIS COMPANY. We were not even mentioned in the townhall meeting. WHAT DOES THAT TELL YA???

WE ARE PEONS TO THIS COMPANY.
They do not care. - mom2huskies
[ In Reply To ..]
They only care about how to make more money for themselves. They could care less if we lose our homes. I told my CCM that MModal only cares about people who are in the higher positions. Us peons who do the work do not matter.
No you will not - broken promises
[ In Reply To ..]
I have emailed her and Vern several times regarding the comp plan. No response. Not even "Sorry for the delay. We know how important this is to you," just silence. I hope they know that for communication to be improved there actually has to be communication in the first place to improve. So sorry I wasted my time.
Oh, you mean the corporate babble about how great management is - isnt enough for you?
[ In Reply To ..]
I am offfended. I try very hard to come up with all of these words that would boggle your brain in the hopes that I confuse your little mildless heads so badly, that you forget all about my enhancement plan and the plight to shift all reamining work to India where they dare not question our antics.

I guess I will have to hire on another corportate mongor to come up with another plan to do just that.

Sincerely,
Vern
P.S. - regret to inform you
[ In Reply To ..]
that we found it necessary to use all available funds for the construction of my new office in Raleigh, North Carolina. I invite you to stop by and visit next time you are in the area (although I will be far to busy to actually come out and meet you, of course).

Vern
Apparently I listened too well - broken promises
[ In Reply To ..]
Especially those words about "priority we are placing on open, timely and transparent communication going forward" and such silly words as "creating a culture of reward and recognition and attracting and retaining top talent."

Its okay, it won't happen again. Fool me once and all that.

Sore subject poster - original poster

[ In Reply To ..]
No, I did not post it to "get a rise" out of everyone. I know it is a sore subject because I lived it, too. My CCM told me that she was expecting to see MTs get a raise this summer and asked me to consider coming back after my summer school semester was over. The only way I will come back is for more pay. That's the only reason I was asking. I can't e-mail her directly because I am no longer an employee. If it is such a sore subject, please skip over such posts.

Oh, please. I've been with this company for 16 years - and not a single change

[ In Reply To ..]
When I heard about the "new compensation package", my one and only thought was "yeah right". I've been with MQ/MM for 16 years and ain't a damn thing's ever changed. The only thing consistent about this company is that the pay consistently sucks. Always has, always will.

Im a 16-year survivor also... - breakinMYback

[ In Reply To ..]
I agree with you. Since CBay bought out MQ, it has gone downhill in a handbasket. I have had 3 pay cuts, no raises. Management is making 3 times what they used to, and we are making 3 times less. When then implied "Enhanced compensation," they were referring to THEIR compensation.

Exactly ... I'm right there with you - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
The only "compensation package" the CEOs of this company ever planned to enhance was their own.

Anyone who ever believes a single word this company says is a damn fool. In 16 years' time I can't think of one single promise they've ever kept and that is no exaggeration.
15 years here. - MMPTSD
[ In Reply To ..]
It's all gone downhill, especially when MQ took over and started us on the "New Platform = Just Type Flush Left!" Someday, there will be a workmen's comp category for MT stress.

As survivors, what color ribbon do you wear? - nm

[ In Reply To ..]
x

Color? Orange, like that weird MM symbol. - That crazy symbol

[ In Reply To ..]
looks like some form of torture device. Anyway, our survivor ribbon should be orange.

Mine's blue - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
Blue, because almost every day I cry that I work for this company. This morning on the way home from the grocery store I literally had an all-out ugly cry in my car because I have NO IDEA how I'm going to pay my rent this month ... again.

I'm a single mom, and an MME. Almost all my MME work for almost 2 weeks now has been for MTs on full QA - a whopping $0.04 a line. In order to pay my bills on that I have to edit 2500-3000+ lines a day ... impossible.

So blue. Deep, dark blue.

Orange and black - biohazard LOL - mom2huskies

[ In Reply To ..]
Since Mmodal is a hazard to one's health and finances, I believe orange and black would be appropriate.

old timers - remember the MQ orchestra?

[ In Reply To ..]
Years ago the Q came out with this really slick package with a ridiculous orchestra theme, promising all kinds of things like higher pay for more difficult dictators, yadayadayada. Of course,it never happened. They must have spent a fortunate on that promotion, between all the idiot business consultants sitting around the table dreaming it up,then the design, printing and packaging. I'm sure it never occurred to them that they could have used all that $$$ to fairly compensate the worker-bees who put $$$ in their pocket to begin with. THAT is when things starting going downhill IMHO.

2006! still have the book they sent out! - jerks

Mar 04, 2010

I do not work for MQ, but why would a client want to outsource to a company who penalizes their transcriptionists for getting a second opinion on a questionable dictation BEFORE it reaches them? Isn't that what they pay the company for, finished quality reports, not having to fill in blanks themselves? What I see is a lot of people protecting their pay by sending blanks to the client that a fresh ear may be able to fill in or, worse yet, a lot of guessing going on. If I were a hos ...

Compensation - For Transcenders
Dec 16, 2012

As you transition to Nuance, you will have training jobs going to QC.  This will count against your QC percentage and affect your ability to earn any increased increment in line rate based on your quality.  Please plan ahead carefully for a much lower paycheck and look for another job as hard as you can.  Advise all would-be MTs to look into coding or some other profession entirely.  MTs are living at poverty levels these days and we have to get the word out.  With VR ca ...

Nuance CEO Compensation...
May 05, 2014

Saw this today. Apparently CEO of Nuance, Paul Ricci, made around $29 million last year. Makes me sick that when I was there I was barely making minimum wage after being an MT for 15 years.
