Accounts that do not off-shore - old and burned out

What I've been wondering is whether or not MQ even wants to retain the accounts that do not allow them to off-shore. These accounts obviously do not produce the same profits. Thoughts?

I am fortunate to be on an account that does not allow offshoring not even Canada MTs. Every time the contract came up I am sure MQ pushed for offshoring but the client wouldn't budge and MQ probably agreed reluctantly because it produces a lot of volume. The smaller accounts, however, I would think they don't want to retain if they don't allow offshoring. How else are they going to pay for the new CEO's salary? However, now my account is now almost totally ASR and those funky heading repors (they have to make money somehow if they can't send to India). Lately I have noticed that the account was going out of turn (this summer) and no OT was called and those jobs would be majorly late. You can just imagine the brain trust at the Q telling the client- we just can't keep up with your work unless we get some help from our ILPs.

My hat is off to you - did you read that entire document? The paragraph you cited on page 20 is really laughable. Virtually all the qualified MTs/MEs whom I know personally have either retired or gone on to other positions because of the low salary and substandard benefits offered in this industry. If there is a shortage of US MTs it is because most MTs with years of experience rightly feel that they should be paid more than minimum wage and receive more than 5 UNPAID days of vacation (flexible part-time)after years and years of service. Any shortage of US MTs has been created by the industry itself and is being used as an excuse to off-shore more work.

I just wish all of the companies who are offshoring would just move their crappy selves where ever they are offshoring to because in my book I don't consider them American anymore.

And you're absolutely right about the shortage of US MTs being created by the industry, and to me that's as anti-American as it gets. I'm sick of their hypocrisy and lying just to fill their pockets and support their outrageous lifestyles while their fellow Americans are suffering because of their greed. And, yes, I agree that the millionaires and billionaires of this nation should be taxed more, and better yet, they do need to do away with the IRS and just have a flat tax on everything when it's purchased. The taxes from planes, boats, cars, and homes that the rich buy so freely would probably knock the deficit down.

Yep! I had 3 accounts that would NEVER offshore and THEY DON'T. MQ kept their word, however, these accounts are not done by MT's anymore. It is done with MQ or now MModal systems where the doctor just clicks in a PDR type system and all done by computer. Sometimes I get to type one report from my old accounts, but that is 1 report in 6 months. Why do you think MQ and MModal merged????

accounts (one of MQ's biggest) and they refuse to offshore, but that can change at any moment with any administration changes for this group of hospitals. I happen to know someone in administration for this hospital group and he says they will not offshore, but I have my doubts that any hospital can resist the lower costs of offshoring MT work. Like I said, all it will take is a change in administration, which happens all the time when stockholders are trying to make more money.

They need 150 signatures for it to be put on the White House website. I'm wondering which specialties would be the best ones to target - i.e., more likely to outsource their transcription to an individual transcriptionist, least likely to have EMR or EPIC.
