Off shore working - Frustrated and almost broke
Posted: Oct 08, 2013
Currently right now, there are 1301 employers working on our accounts off shore, whiile ony in-state 198 are working. Now where are our jobs? no wonder we have NJAs
Wow. I wonder why they bother keeping a U.S. presence at all? - sm

Though the numbers might be reversed, or close to it, in about 12 hours?
no they always have more working than we do - and more work as well

by a lot. Believe me, MM would get rid of all of us tomorrow if they could.
To maintain the pretense - sm

It is to maintain the pretense that it is a US company and that the work is being done in the US. They need at least some US MTs to support the claim that they are unable to find enough US MTs to do the work, the justification for offshoring.
That's what I was thinking, and that they keep just you few now so they can be - sm

"creative" when describing their actual situation to accounts that require only U.S. MTs.
I worked for the Q back in the day when it was pulling all the shenanigans that resulted in multiple lawsuits, and I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out that it's still essentially skirting the law, by the way it represents itself as a company, etc.

The last I heard, which was July 2012, we were acquired by One Equity Partners, which is a private investment arm of JP Morgan Chase & Co. If anyone has more updated info, please share. Thanks!
Our work is going offshore faster than you can imagine. According to posts, I see we are wondering about the lack of work, in many cases for over a year. We are behind in getting info on this. Google off-shore transcription or any words that will get you the info. The information is plentiful. Many articles state the hospitals are unaware that work is going off shore. They just dictate, assume it goes to a central system in the states and we sit behind our des ...
Has anybody read the share holders minutes from Transcend, boasting about how much they are going to increase their offshore transcription within the next two years? Email me and I can send you a copy. ...
Does anyone know for a fact that Transcend sends work off-shore? Heard the rumor, and just wonder if its true after their protestations to the contrary. ...
What I've been wondering is whether or not MQ even wants to retain the accounts that do not allow them to off-shore. These accounts obviously do not produce the same profits. Thoughts? ...
Is there a company out there that is hiring that does not send most of their work out?
Please email me if you know of something please. I am needing to make a change. ...
New CMT & RMT tests out, so off-shore will be teaching to the tests big time. This is going on in our industry and others; but savvy big companies are awake and tweaking certification testing to catch the problem; not sure ADHI is sophisticated enough for that. I am really NOT sure they WANT to address that issue. Watch the flood of new CMTs from off-shore...and what it does to availability of our jobs. (Yet there will be the re ...
Not sure how much good it will do, but here is something interesting. Related to the US transcriptionists issues with work offshoring to Indian companies, is this article series about Indian owned/run companies in the Information Technology field pulling illegal activities right here in the US in order to save money.

There is a petition here http://wh.gov/XbqE about stopping off-shoring jobs. I saw it on facebook, and it would apply to MT, I think.
They need 150 signatures for it to be put on the White House website.
If our jobs were back here and not sent to other countries, maybe we could finally work and get paid enough to survive - kind of like in the "good old days."

I know I have seen this in the past, but cannot remember what the resources were. I consider myself displaced due to off-shoring of my work (which would cover most of us), but I cannot remember what this information was regarding getting retraining due to this situation. Can anyone help? Thanks so much. ...
I would like to work "outside" of home but it is quite a struggle getting the okay from my husband. The transcription is pretty unbearable to me. Anyone else have that concern? ...
I have an odd question. If a US trained Medical Transcriptionist works from home (in the U.S.), but then decides to spend 1/2 the year (or more) in a foreign country, is it possible (ethical/legal) to continue working as an MT while in that country? The MT would keep the US address, and bank account. All paychecks would continue to be direct deposited into current U.S. bank account. MT would continue to pay U.S. taxes on all monies earned.

I have a new pet - a dog - who wants to sit next to me while I work. Does anyone have any ideas how to "update" my chair so this is possible. She's not very big, only about 15-16 lbs but I have no idea how to adapt my chair to make this possible. TIA. ...
I went to their website for the current job posting but my security software kicked me out of their site.
Can anyone give me info on working there, good, bad, ugly???
Thanks in Advance! ...
I know I am not the only one working 2 jobs or more. Between them I am scheduled 68 hours per week. I have them spread out enough I have "long breaks" in between to fix supper, take a little me time out around the lunch hour and housework kind of gets slighted. Watching TV of a night with hubby sleeping in his recliner is the main thing I am "missing out on". I don't spend as much money because I simply don't have the time to go out shopping other th ...
And to think, I actually left medquist to work for DSG.
Now they're forcing me to work for medquist again, and trying to convince me it's going to be a good thing?
I love to know if any DSGers are actually happy about this...

Does anyone know of any companies that hire on a super PT or PRN basis? I am looking for some backup whenever my FT position gets slow. I comb the job postings here regularly and on another site, but really haven't come across anything as of late.
TIA. ...
how do you keep track of all the different account specs for each job? I was wondering because I am employed with one job but the different clinics I work for each have different specs. Thank you. ...
Than everyone else on here! I'm very happy here. I have no problem with meeting quotas, have no issues with PTO, like the matching (up to 4%) 401K, and for the past 3 weeks have had OT everyday & have worked around 55-60 hours every week with a corresponding very hefty paycheck. ...
