70 jobs in the entire north region - happy holidays

On your average day, 5000! Now, 70. I get that its a holiday, but I have run out for 3 weeks now. TSM said they over-hired and work went to India.. well, then get rid of the new hires already. This is ridiculous. Why would they hire more when they planned to ship more work overseas? Is this to train the new hires becuase they make so much less than some of us who have been here awhile?

At this point, I dont believe there will be pay cuts, I think they will just starve out the ones making a higher wage until they quit, or fire them for "quality" reasons. They will route work to the newbies, pay them a low-ball wage, and have India do the bulk of it.

Before you start blaming new hires, take a step back. The work has all gone to India. The work they hired me to do vanished as well. I was out of work since they did the restructuring and laid off the TSMs back in October. I am no longer working for M*Modal as THERE IS NO WORK!!!! I offered to learn new accounts and told to "hang in there." Wrong. I will not hang in there. Goodbye! No work = no pay. It would be foolish for me to "hang on." "Hanging on" does not pay my bills- sorry M*Modal but you have poor management no matter how you restructure; it is just plain sad.

Too many layers of management in this company for such little work here in the US. That's my opinion.

Yes some has been off-shored and I know that because I'm a MME and started suddenly about 1-2 months getting off-shore work on the accounts I work on. In fact, the then CCM told the MMEs this was happening. CCM said it was client's choice; not sure if that's true. BUT they also hired about a dozen new American MTs at the same time for these acconts. In fact, in the north there used to be about 350 MT's working at any time. Now, there is over 400 and closer to 425 working (when there's work). So they definitely hired more people. Why? I don't know. My sense is some are part timers so maybe they are trying to get around paying benefits.

I am going to resign as well. I have a non-MT job offer that fell into my lap.

I guess I've been basically lucky-I don't keep running out of work constantly, but I told all the people I love and care for that I can't do Thanksgiving during the day/early evening hours with them, as I have to work--you guessed it, ran out of work 1 hour into my shift. The whole world plans their life around me on holidays and weekends....then, for what?

I do have this figured out. They say they pay us extra for working holidays (sounds pretty, doesn't it?), but we don't have work on holidays. That's nice, thanks so much for that lovely benefit.

is always asking part-timers to "jump on" and help out. Between part-timers, full-timers and India working on the accounts, there is barely enough work for any of us. It is a dog-eat-dog world at M*Modal.

and my supervisor's BOB has been pretty much empty for really the last month or more. I have had maybe 10 jobs of my primary, secondary and so on accounts that Im familiar with for at least 2 weeks. When I do get jobs from these accounts a lot of them have been hard to hear (background noise and such), some of the ASR reports have been horrible with a lot of added words and whole sentences left out. Always work Saturday morning, rarely have NJA but beginning to think it's going to be a regular thing now. This is my 3rd NJA this week. I feel sorry for those that get NJA every day. I am wondering if a certain North region is low on work too, specifically the one whose CCM lives in the same region as most of the accounts. North region went from 4 accounts, to being tried on this POD Pilot Program and put on at least 10 more accounts, with a few having several divisions. After 1st week, workload fell way behind, over 1400 reports by this past Friday. Around 4 p.m. Friday, we were offered OT plus an extra $10/h for Fri, Sat & Sun, but have to work at least 3 hours OT each day. Ours from the West has (thankfully) gone back to being another MME like the rest of us poor mortals. I found her e-mails to be bossy, snippy, condescending and picky to the point of absurdity.
