new north region - sm

I think I've been up too long as I was reading the directions for text expansions and dictionaries for this "new" north region being created.

Directions indicates loggin into DocQscribe use new company code and then proceed with copy the above.

I don't ever put the company code in when I log into DocQscribe. I only enter it sometimes when logging into DocQmanage.

Has anybody already logged in with the new company code and downloaded the text expansions/dictionaries yet for the new service area north yet? If so, could you explain this to me? Thanks.

Forget the can't enter company code into DQS from my OP....I don't enter it because it's already there, duhhhh. What an airhead moment posted for all to see, oh well.

I still don't quite understand copying the expansion/dictionary files. So, any help there really would be great.

I'm in the north region too, and I did it last week. I'm not sure why they're calling it expanders and dictionaries, since it doesn't have anything to do with that at all that I could see.

One thing that was not mentioned in the email, is that when you first log into DQS you are to use the passowrd "medquist10." Using your own password doesn't work. I had to call support to find that out. Once you make the additions, you can change back to your normal password.

The next time you log in to work, you have to change the "company" back to your regular one, or else the new company will be there, and you'll get NJA until 01/01.

I couldn't log in with my password and have been waiting for a reply E-mail from my CCM as to what is wrong. Now I can go ahead and do it. Gheez, you would think they would give out the right directions in the first place!

I tried loggin in with the medquist10 password, but get an error message about my username. Did you use your same username (#) and then just change the password and company? I wonder if I'm trying to do it too early?

I logged on with my regular username (#) and my regular company code, not the new one, and the new password. In the directions, it says to abandon the job that comes up, but no job came up.

I have not heard of this either. Was their an email from someone? CCM or MQ? I am SA2 which I believe now is considered to be North region, but I'm not positive of that.

We got an email from our CCM on 12/21/09. I'm in SA2, North region. I'm sure the region is further broken down, so maybe this does not apply to everybody.

There are two areas, I believe S1 and S2, that are being combined into one new north area. In the email it specified two company codes only, so I'm assuming they are the only ones involved in this merger.

Our work pool will now be more than doubled, as well as the MTs in our area, secondary to this merger. All current work pools will have additional accounts put in them.

I don't know exactly why they are doing this. I really hope this doesn't create more NJAs for us now. I have my fingers crossed that it will do the exact opposite and provide more steady work. I already had NJA today, so I really hope the later happens.

You mean that hundreds of MTs are getting work from one central pool? Doesn't that mean you could be typing for several different hospitals? What if you don't know all the accounts? And you know all accounts was different things, wow, this sounds very confusing. Go MQ!!!!

We were told that there would be new accounts to learn from the other merging area. Just how many new accounts each of us will be given, is unclear to me.

Right now I have 5 large accounts in my regular pool with 3 others that get added in during slower times.

I'm really a bit uneasy about having more added in with possibly more standards to learn. I just got a new account added a few weeks ago that does not follow the same standards my other accounts do. So, of course, it's more time consuming to have to constantly be checking standards whenever it pops up in my pool. It makes me nervous that I now might have up to 6 new accounts each with their own standards to follow.

I have my fingers crossed that this will be a smooth merger without any problems on my end of things.

and my supervisor's BOB has been pretty much empty for really the last month or more. I have had maybe 10 jobs of my primary, secondary and so on accounts that Im familiar with for at least 2 weeks. Ever since this merge, my primary has been out of work, hardly ever happened before. Mine is out of work because they're getting mine because their's is out of work and viice versa. Always work Saturday morning, rarely have NJA but beginning to think it's going to be a regular thing now. This is my 3rd NJA this week. I feel sorry for those that get NJA every day. I can feel it creeping up on me slowly. I hope those of you who have NJA have applied for unemployment. On your average day, 5000! Now, 70. I get that its a holiday, but I have run out for 3 weeks now. TSM said they over-hired and work went to India.. well, then get rid of the new hires already. This is ridiculous. Why would they hire more when they planned to ship more work overseas? Is this to train the new hires becuase they make so much less than some of us who have been here awhile? At this point, I dont believe there will be pay cuts, I think they will just starve out the ones making a high ...

I quit MQ a few months ago. I loved my account and miss it. I am wondering if a certain North region is low on work too, specifically the one whose CCM lives in the same region as most of the accounts. The large teaching hospital always was backlogged, with lots and lots of work. But I won't bother to reapply if the work is low. ...

North region went from 4 accounts, to being tried on this POD Pilot Program and put on at least 10 more accounts, with a few having several divisions. After 1st week, workload fell way behind, over 1400 reports by this past Friday. Around 4 p.m. Friday, we were offered OT plus an extra $10/h for Fri, Sat & Sun, but have to work at least 3 hours OT each day. I have a question. I'm in the SE region where the CTL quit effective immediately last week. Is our supervisor gone, too? She never is good about communication, but I sent her an e-mail 2-1/2 weeks ago which is still unanswered and there has been no communication of any kind for about 3 weeks. Shouldn't there have been a communication about our CTL leaving? Nothing is completed in Schedule Source, etc. ...

I've only been on DQS since July and still getting to know how all things work. I work in the North region, and today I am getting jobs from an account I can't find in my BOB. This account is in Tennessee, which doesn't seem like it should be in the North. Am I getting jobs from another region? Anybody know if this is possible? My regular BOB seems to be pretty much out of work, but I didn't know I could get work from somewhere else. ...

I was switched to new accounts back in March, a group of long-term subacute hospitals with the same name and locations all over the country. HIGH HIGH ESL. Most of the notes barely 30 seconds long, if that. They are the worst money accounts possible with more time spent on ADT than typing because the notes are so short. The ONLY good thing is that I rarely ever run out of work. My income has gone down over 40% since being put on these accounts. I ask ...
