I mean this post in all ernest, I am genuinely interested in hearing about those things that you might do differently next year to make things better than this year. I'll go first.
1. I plan to stay more focused on my work instead of checking in here, so much. I plan to accomplish this by removing my MTStars icon from my toolbar, thus removing my temptation to click on it and navigate here so many times during the day. I sat down the other day and analyzed how much money I'm costing myself by not staying focused for the full 8 hours and I was truly astounded.
2. I also plan to make a genuine effort to learn my client profiles so that I create a better quality document. I have worked for Medquist for 14 years and have at least a dozen accounts that I work on. I can honestly say I know 3 of them extremely well; the rest of the client profiles I know very little about.
3. I am going to invest in updating at least my 2 most frequently-used resources, a good drug book and an Op/Procedure word book.
4. I am going to keep my work space clean and organized instead of piled on with papers, notes, mail, and gum wrappers. I feel better and am more productive when my work space is clear and open.
OK, those are mine … what are yours?
I personally do not believe in making resolutions. Just be yourself, motivated and ready to explore new horizons of life.
