I just want to send a message to all you hard-working, single mommies out there. I was in your shoes and had to make a living doing transcription to support my young family. I want you all to know I admire you, and I know how hard it is to do what you do, especially with the changing times in our career. When I read your posts, it breaks my mommy heart all you single moms giving so much of themselves to support their families. Let's not forget these mommies still need time to spend with the very people we are trying to support and that can be tough. Hugs to you all!
This is not to diminish the efforts of other transcriptionists trying to contribute to their households, but I do hold a special place in my heart for single moms with no outside support other than what their fingers can produce.
My dream job would be to start my own transcription company and hire all you wonderful people who just want to do good work and have pride and respect in your field. I had a wonderful supervisor/boss once who said transcription was her dream department because we managed ourselves so well. She used to tease and say the transcriptionists were their own motivators with desire to do good work, etc. She was the only boss I ever had that truly knew the mind set of a good transcriptionist, and she allowed to shine every day.
Hang in there mommies...
