This movie is called "The Gleaners and I." It's a French movie. It's all about people who "glean" things that other people throw away, and survive that way. I was thinking about that earlier this evening. My queue was emptied out, but I decided to just wait around for a little bit. Another job did come in, about $1.50 worth of lines. Then I wondered, was it worth waiting 25 minutes to do that. That equals about $3 an hour. It made me think about what length you will go to just to get a dollar, and what makes you decide, This is worth my time; or this is not worth my time. Yes, I'll hang around to get that $1.50. It made me think of those gleaners that go through other people's trash, other people's fields after harvest, taking that time in hopes of finding a little something, maybe a lot of something. You never know what you will get. Later on tonight, I came back to the computer to check again, and got another $18 in a short time. On and on it goes. Keep scavenging, keep looking. Every little bit helps. See, I've kept the computer on now, and written this post, and another $1.50 job has popped into my queue. Toodle-oo... BTW that film is by Agnes Varda, she was in her 70s when she made the film, and it mixes her own experience with the people she is filming. Very interesting... you can stream it on Netflix, I believe.
