My job could be in jeopardy because we might be merging with another clinic, and there are no other local in-house MT openings. I've been working in a specialty clinic (in-house) the past 5-1/2 years. Even though I have 5 years of acute care/radiology experience and 1 year of multi-specialty clinic, and even though I took the M-TEC course and graduated with 98% about 3 years ago, it doesn't matter because I don't have recent acute care experience. Okay, I can understand that, so I'm trying to figure out what to do to make myself more marketable as an MT. There are some courses I'm considering - if anyone has taken any of these, could you please give me your opinion on the quality? I already know the pricing. Thanks.
1. AHDI acute care module.
2. Career Step CMT prep courses versus M-TEC CMT review versus TRSI CMT prep course.
3. M-TEC Increasing Productivity Webinar
4. M-TEC Grammar and Punctuation Webinar versus TRSI English Grammar Review - definitely quite a bit price difference, but it looks from the description like the M-TEC one is really thorough.
Basically I just need to get familar with acute care again and get my speed up which has always been an issue when working from home as I've tried that a few times. Plus my satellite connection doesn't help but that's all I can get for high-speed internet.
Thanks.
