good morning,

i hope everyone had a "decent" fourth.

in the past, i have worked for MTSOs where the "supervisor" was fraudulently misrepresenting the company online. this has happened at least once. this has led to tardy pay/not getting paid at all, a lot of heartache, etc. it is also a potential HIPAA violation of the worst kind.

before i make an employment commitment to another schmuck, I want to check the credentials of the MTSO and the person doing the hiring online and the talking to me on the phone. Would it be appropriate to contact MTIA, CDIA, or what? How can I protect myself from the self-serving opportunists online who could blemish my professional reputation and make it impossible for me to acquire decent employment in our industry in the future?

Are you serious? Do you really think MTSOs have time to develop some scheme to tar your professional image? Give me a break!

Due your own due diligence (which may be what you're actually saying, I really have no idea) and check with the BBB in the area of the MTSO, or ask them for references.

HOW is not paying or belatedly paying employees a "potential HIPAA violation?"

Good morning.

I don't know whether or not my post intimates that getting paid tardily (or not at all) is/was/would be a HIPAA violation. When you fall pray to a schlepp online pretending to manage a department within an MTSO, the pay thing is one issue to have to endure (and perhaps the most personally deleterious). There are many, many other issues to endure, such as job self-esteem, confusion, ect. But, Federally legal-wise, the most deleterious thing, of course, to the patients we try so hard to care for is uploading medical data that the "MTSO schlepp" inadvertently (or advertently) may misroute, "nonroute", change decimal point places within, ect., ect., ect., ect.

THIS is what I mean by "potential HIPAA violations of the WORST KIND".

I just had to vent! I am SICK AND TIRED of companies (mostly hospitals) with these l-o-n-g applications asking you to document your whole life history. Anyone ever test on one the MTTEST online testing sites, knew that you answered all of the questions correct on the multiple choice and fill in the blanks section, only to be told that you failed the test? I'm seriously considering enrolling at one of the "top two" MT online schools. I'm good at English grammar, spelling, type over 100 wpm with 98% accuracy, a perfectionist, and am also very focused. I do have a full-time job, but can easily devote evenings and time on the weekends to complete the course.
