Companies that do NOT outsource - OhioMT

Is there ANY company out there that does NOT outsource ANY of their dictation? I usually don't mind ESL dictation except when it's ALL I get anymore. I work for a company that is being bought out by another company and right now, the only work I get or that is left to type, are the crappiest dictators out there. This is the dictation that cannot be sent out as a voice recognition file OR for straight typing simply because it's crap dictation. I've been doing this for 20+ years and I just cannot believe that the hospitals and physicians are aware that they are hiring companies in the United States to do their work and that work is being shipped overseas. I think it's our duty as MTs to broadcast this information every chance we get to make them aware of this....especially let them know that the company they are supposedly having do their typing is charging them FULL PRICE as if a qualified American MT is typing it, yet they are paying only pennies per page for an unqualified ESL person to do it. In other words, the companies are NOT passing on the savings to the hospitals and physicians!
Anybody know of any companies that keep their work right here in the good ole' USA??

Hospital administrators make the decisions - all about $ - MT
[ In Reply To ..]Unfortunately, it's the hospital administrators who usually make the decisions and for them it's all about cost-cutting. I know at our biggest account, a large acute care facility, while the physicians didn't like it, they had no say. And no, the hospital was not paying "full-price". I don't know why I see this assumed so often on this board. Every time the contract needed to be reviewed, they took bids for the lowest price. My small US-based company in fact no longer has the account after 30+ years. We just could not compete any more with these offshore companies and it went to an Indian one. Nobody cares, sadly.

The company I work for has gone VR (on most jobs). I cannot make any money doing this. My pay has been cut approximately $150 to $200 every two weeks. They have already taken away the incentives, and now if you screw up a couple of times on demographics, you do not get paid for the job, and the third or fourth time you are pulled from the account. Periodically, I will cruise the MT help wanted, and see some companies that list the system requirements as "must have XP." My question is this: I wonder if they mean must have at least XP or do they mean MUST HAVE XP. I find it difficult to believe that any system out there only works with XP, as Vista has been around for a good long while and even Windows 7 (which I wish DocQ would update to) has been out for a bit.
