CMT test - share links or information - MTWonder

Could you share links or information where I may find a sample of the type of test given for the CMT exam. There are so many things to study. I am a former CMT of 15 years, but this testing material is totally different from my testing in the 90s. I feel like I have to be a doctor to take this test now. Thank you!

I wouldnt waste your money on a CMT test. It wont - get you more money or a better job.

I DID get a better job and I DO get extra $$ - more than enough to pay for my expenses throughout the year. For me, the CMT is a matter of pride. I know there will be dozens who refute my opinion and that's okay. For me it works and I plan on continuing it till I quit MT-ing - PERIOD!

when I passed my CMT. But I also agree about AHDI, which is why I'm not a member. They got enough out of me when I paid my testing fee, which was ridiculous.

none of your business. Suffice it to say that I'm happy with it so you needn't worry. On top of that, when was the last time you got a raise or increase in pay for anything? Sheesh, I said in my prior post that not everybody feels the need or desire to certify but *I* choose to - can't you leave it at that?

support having it. $50.00 for recert is all they get from me so for the earnings I get from the CMT, I feel that they get little in return, and I, OTOH, get updated information and education that I would not get otherwise since I work at home. As I said initially, I know some won't agree with my decision, but that's okay. As long as it works for me, I am not concerned with the opinions of others.

AHDI has self-assessment products - for a price, of course.

Audio, workbook, etc. Unfortunately, they're a little vague about the exact relationship between these products and the CMT exam itself so I'd call them first.

I'm looking for suggestions on what to use for shortcut methods to sites online for research while working. I had been using a Yahoo Toolbar, but gave that up when I found out it is slowing things down. I'd like to hear what others are for quick links that are alternates to a toolbar. I'm interested in figuring out the average VR lines per day an MT can average with M*M as well as how many straight typing lines you get per day. I am grateful to have a job today. I am grateful that work is available on that job. I am grateful that it pays well. I am just grateful. When doing VR, which of course is 98% of the time, I keep my hands at the bottom of the keyboard, left hand near Cntl, right hand hovering over the arrow keys. Since there is a lot of deleting to do, you have to reach up to the top right corner of the laptop to press delete. Of course I always have to look to make sure I don't accidentally hit insert.
