Am I the only one who wears letters of keys in no time? - Fossil

Usually I apply a coat of clear nail polish to the keys, but this time I forgot, and just since December I have already worn most the letters off my keyboard. Spent most of the day on line trying to find another KB like the one I have.

Do any of you guys go through KBs like water????

Google "keyboard skin." I've used them for years, they come made to fit whatever model keyboard you choose, fit beautifully, and don't interfere with typing. Also keeps out dirt, dog hair, crumbs and spills. Not expensive.

I do and I have also bought peel and stick letters. I wear those down too and then I am left with letters I really do not need. I have gone through I do not know how many keyboards. Used to have keyboard ancient years ago that that held up, but they do not make them anymore.

I really like the Memorex TS1100 keyboards and am always hunting them on ebay. They don't last very long.

It's always interesting to note which keys wear down first. I even wore out a space on the space bar with my thumb. I do have a tendency to pound the keys, but surprisingly, after 30+ years my only problem is some arthritis in my thumbs.

but I have actually worn holes through the keys, especially where my nails hit often. I was going to frame it and put it in my office.

Regarding pay, work conditions, etc., the only clear out of bounds complaints we have are 1) Unpaid work. The concept that we can do this 'on the clock' is a double whammy. You end up getting paid LESS than if you did it on your own time. I've clocked alll this unpaid work very conservatively. It is 48-52 hours annually. If you are transcribing a dictated letter from one physician to another in regards to a pt, wouldnt the date at the top of the letter be the date that you typed the letter? It doesnt seem that it would be the date of service or is this a preference thing of a physican or transcription company which date you put up there? ...

or sometimes even within the state don't bother to spell the doctor's name? There are a million doctors on the account hospital list, and if it's anything unusual (most of the time), I go crazy trying to sound it out and looking for it. :p Of course, if the doctor is out of state, 99% of the time it's not even listed. I generally introduce myself with my name, state how long I have been a MT and just a very short overview of my experience, as well as position I am seeking, IC, for instance. My cover letter is only 5 lines. Is this the norm for everyone else? When I first typed my cover letter I did some research and it stated to make the letter as short as possible and to highlight your "strong" points. I applied for a job with a company and was hired. Hello! Do any of you use jump keys? For example, I have asterisks (*) in all of my templates in places where I need to insert something (vitals, he/she, etc.).. I made a macro that says anytime I use a quick key (for me it was Alt+x), it would jump to the next asterisk and I could quickly type whatever needed to go in that spot. Hi all, Any MTs who work on Editscript. Do you use the shortcuts recommeded by the program or do you do your own workaround and remap keys or use Shorthand to map a different key to do the same or a combination of key commands. I tried using shorthand to overide the other key commands in Editscript and it will not let me. I like to use my ALT K and ALT J keys to move forward and back in the report rather than CTL right arrow or left arrow, but it will not let me create that in ...
