A community of 30,000 US Transcriptionist serving Medical Transcription Industry
So here is my story. I have 9 years of experience in medical transcription, including independent contractor and a full time hospital transcription employee. I was notified in August of 2014 that my job was being outsourced. I asked over and over when I would hear rumors but was assured that was never going to happen. Yeah, right. I was shocked when I was told. The state that I live in actually offers the shortest amount of weeks to draw unemployment benefits, so that ended. I am researching and researching and applying with companies now but I wanted to ask if anyone has any advice to offer on which companies are actually worth going for. I have read so many horror stories and don't want to pick a company in which I may not get paid or not be treated fair. I know this has happened to many transcriptionists around the world, but if anyone has any feedback I would greatly appreciate it.
