Are you working yet? Do you like it. If they run another class, would you recommend it?
No we had a hiatus, will be back in class on Monday - yes I would definitely go for it

if offered again. There have been glitches and problems because of ICD 10 being delayed and the website used for tests having issues but all in all there is no downside to it. It is still amazing to me I am getting paid to learn and feel very blessed.
I was a loyal Transcend employee; took a lot of heat on these boards for defending them, got accused of being a suit and worse (I've been a suit and trust me, it's overrated). Now, Nuance has hit me with a 20% pay cut for no reason other than that's just what they do to everybody, and QA people who have never even SEEN the account I've worked on for 4 years are nickel-and-diming me for things I know for a fact I have typed exactly the way the client wants. Now we have to sign ...
...not state specific, I can find that. I mean, how does one manage when say for example the pay is the 10th and 25th of the month, with no money coming in, especially for the first month you work? would this not be a good idea for someone who really needs money desperately? do MTs make enough to supplement all that time in between?
for anyone working for 2 different companies IC, do you like it - do you make more money that way - is it worth all the different things yo ...
I haven't gone on it since it changed from Medquist, and I can't remember if we use our email address, employee name, or what. Also, does the password coincide with the one we use for anything else, such as Fluency?I swear, I need a personal secretary ...
I haven't been given any info on MModal intranet either. Is this something I will get info on after training or what? I'm guessing that is where the pay period schedule would be? Would be nice if I could access it. Whoevers job it was to give me info, etc on this stuff did not do their job obviously. ...
Just recently offered a position at SS. I was just going through the archives to see if there was any info on this company, but everything seems pretty old on here. Anyone working for them now that could give some advice? Good company/bad company? I read where communication is non-existant, but if that is the worst of it.. I can handle that. I have worked for M*Modal....so that is pretty much the bottom of the barrel! SS has GOT to be better than them! ...
Need to know any info ASAP on I think its called Global Info Systems or something like that out of Texas. Lots of clinic work, but low low line rate offered. Need to know about management, stability, VR reality, workload, response from tech support, etc. Also, are these clinics in India? Thanks for any help! ...
It isn't easy to get off some of the spam and phone call lists when you click for more information about some of these courses. I've found that for me, it isn't worth it to get that information if I am giving up my privacy. Some of these people are relentless! You can't get away from them once they get your information.
There is one in particular that makes sure you hear from them every day in one form or another. They become your best friend, even if you weren't lookin ...
I am testing with GIS this evening, does anyone have any information on this company.
I am currently working with TTS, they do not even pay 4 CPL for editing. I feel like this business has become a legalized form of slavery. The only business where with over 10 years of experience, your pay goes down. ...
I noticed I had 19 hours of PTO, had this amount for the past couple of weeks. After this last payday, it's still the same 19 hours. I thought they added our PTO every PP? At least they did in the past, I'd always see approximately 6 hours added every PP. Is this yet something ELSE they are ripping us off for? ...
Hi. New to VR and just received an e-mail from a company I inquired at. They are paying 0.030 per line for VR editing for ICS. Is this really low or am I in another universere???!!! TX I haven't done VR - but straight transcription I average 200 LPH. I have no idea what I would make at this rate. Any info please! ...
If I accept a position as IC, what is the going cpl ? I realize I will have to pay employer and employee SS and Medicare, self-employment tax as well as federal. Not sure if I want to do this or stay as employee status. ...
I just saw an add for Medscribes in KY that says the job or position is IC status. Yet they give specific hours they want you to work. It was my understanding that IC status was you set your own hours more or less and also pay your own taxes, etc. Please clarify. ...
I got an email saying that I had passed the testing for MME but haven't heard anything from my TSM about what I should do next, anyone else in this situation?
...
What "really" happened to IC status? How did we turn into employees without benfits? I recall when IC was REALLY IC. I took a break and things had changed pretty drastically! We now are required to basically do "shift work," which I understand to a point, but it sure isn't the way it was!! I recall getting paid more because we did not get benefits, more for fast speakers and ESL--what happened to that?
I personally just dropped out for awhile, and a new ...
Got my packet today. Not a word about IC option. Has anyone been okayed to go ahead as IC status yet? It's obvious in all the calls that employee status is the big push and I wonder how easy they are going to make it to be an IC instead. ...
For anyone who has changed from full-time to part-time status, have you still been able to get time off when needed, and what exactly is meant by flexible part time (flexible for whom)? With all the recent changes, I am finding it necessary to begin heading in another direction. ...
I've worked for an MTSO for about nine years. Work is scarce, and I need to find another part-time job or maybe just leave and work full time. I don't know anything about IC. I see things like you are required to do your own taxes and can work the flexibility of what you want as long as you get the TAT. I know insurance is not covered in these positions. But how do you handle time off for vacations or personal days? Do you go on vacation and then com ...
I have just started a new job as an IC. I have been an employee and statutory employee but never IC. I know I pay quarterly taxes and have had them set up by my accountant. He, likewise, knows of all the deductions I can take, but I have seen a post on here giving a website where you can get this information, as well.
Can anyone give me the link to this site? Thanks very much! ...
I have 2 accounts, who only dictate once a month. I work for someone who has lost a lot of their work, and so I can't count on them as before. I have 1 other account where I could work until my fingers fall off, but I am concerned about IC status. If I keep these small accounts and maximize working for the the larger one, would I still be considered an IC? How many clients do you need in order to maintain IC status? Does the IRS care if they don't produce enough income to give me a 109 ...
Does Transcend or ANY company pay for CMT status? I used to have this certification but it was never recognized. Wondered if things have changed. Thanks. ...
Does anyone know why Zylomed starts you out as an IC and then offers employee status? What does employee status get you? PTO? Benefits? I understand there is no VR, do you know if it is all clinic transcription? Are there any incentives? Sorry for all the questions, but changing companies is so hard these days :) Thanks for your help! ...
I would like some info regarding what companies provide employee status and what are the terms? how many lines are expected per day or per pay period.
Any info would be appreciated - thanks!
